Default Remakes or sequels better than the original

It's what you really want to post about. So have at it.
Because no one seems to understand what a remake of a BAD movie means.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Yeah, and because it's a bit too easy to come up with ones, I have no interest in discussing those. The other topic is a far tougher challenge.
Things I love: Batman, Superman, AEW, old films, Lovecraft

Grant Morrison: “Adults...struggle desperately with fiction, demanding constantly that it conform to the rules of everyday life. Adults foolishly demand to know how Superman can possibly fly, or how Batman can possibly run a multibillion-dollar business empire during the day and fight crime at night, when the answer is obvious even to the smallest child: because it's not real.”

I think True grit was better then the John Wayne version.

I also loved the Tony Todd Night of the Living Dead much better the the original Black and White version.

For all of Hollywood's faults and the ways and means they throw consideration and money around, they are very much a fool me once operation. This does not prevent the same originator(s) of a bad production to come up with a completely different bad movie but you very rarely- and by rarely I feel it's like getting struck by lightning while being attacked by a shark level of chances, to have a bad movie on it's entire face be given another chance. A challenge is one thing but circumstances that just don't happen enough to warrent consideration is another. And people reach, which is cool.

As far as this thread goes, even though it's a different medium, I'd say the M*A*S*H* Movie is largely forgotten but the TV show really became a property on a whole nother level.

True to the spirit I'd say Underworld 2 blows away the first one. The second one gave the characters some personality other than bullets and teeth which was the extent of the characters vibe in the first one.

Fully agree with these and not because I loathe John Wayne (I do like Sons of Katie Elder and The Searchers). Oddly enough the Romero Dawn of The Dead is many ways is surpassed by Snyder's remake AND STILL I'd rather watch the OG, and that's one of the few feathers in dudes cap as people bring up.

As a deep cut, The Howling movies that came after the first one pretty much exceeded in quality of the original even though the thread line from one to the next is non-existent at times. The first 4 or 5 at least, they struggle some with not running together if you haven't seen them in a while. That said the first one was not bad, not great but not bad.
Beefing up the old home security, huh?
    You bet yer ass.

The Blob from 1988 is better than the original with Steve McQueen.

So tough, few can do it, or understand it. :P
