Default Should there be a Bond "shared Universe"/Spin-off series?

The Craig films were all connected (although "Skyfall" kind of tried to do it's own thing in a sense, SPECTRE retconned Silva into being part of the group; there's a deleted scene I think that further explains how his vendetta against M fit into Blofeld's plans), but what about a possible "Shared universe"? With the next Bond reboot being the center, but with perhaps spin-offs?

Felix Leiter-whatever his next version may be-might be the most obvious character to get his own film, although he'd probably be fairly unique from Bond, apart from being part of another intelligence agency. The novels-early on-had him badly injured, but he still manages to be an effective agent (However, a similar injury in LICENSE TO KILL pretty much wrote him out of the series, with Jack Wade pretty much taking his place.). Maybe they can do this with a Felix spinoff. The Felix comics have him with a metal hand as well. Reportedly there were early plans for a possible spin off with Jack Lord.

Maybe focus on another 00? Or even a villain/organization?

Of course there's also a chance of a Bond girl spinoff. Although there were some rumors about Michelle Yeoh's Wai Lin (and Yeoh is still pretty popular today)The closest we got was Die Another Day's Jinx. Berry and Michael Madsen apparently had the option for two films, but reportedly the poor box office of Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life and Charlies Angels: Full Throttle at the time (Female led action films; not that this is anyway a bad thing-plenty of them have done well-but at the time those two films weren't doing great); as well as the eventual plan to start fresh with Bond, ended the idea.

The only thing I'd care for would be a Paloma film starring Ana de Armas.
Tolstoy will live forever. Some people do. But that's not enough. It's not the length of a life that matters, just the depth of it. The chances we take. The paths we choose. How we go on when our hearts break. Hearts always break and so we bend with our hearts. And we sway. But in the end what matters is that we loved... and lived.

sure why not? ION productions and Amazon would probably want to do more things now. "retro" stories or whatever else.

    Not really.
I feel the idea of trying to expand movie universes is getting tired now. Hate to sound more conservative or traditionalist, but I feel there’s points where progression can be made in cinema and others where it’s best to leave them alone. I mean, I doubt many People care enough about the adventures of another agent in the Bond verse. Recurring ally would probably work best.

Maybe they can finally do the spin off of Jinx with Halle Berry.

I honestly don't see why not.

Eon productions can experiment a lot more like that.

its not getting tiring, it is tiring, even DC franchise is not into it any more but the main reason why Bond should stay clear , is that Bond since the Daniel Craig years has tried as much as it can to be a more seriously taken artistic franchise. In a fair world, Skyfall would have been a best picture nominated movie.

I also think the more artistic Bond approach we saw in the Craig era may have been inspired by Matt Damon's Bourne Identity series and the TV series 24 with Jack Bauer, so I am sure the folks behind Bond are still going to want to test the ground more artistically. a connected franchise many times than not tends to strip movies of any artistic individual approach and the film making suffers. No chance the Bond folks are going to let Bond take such a drastic turn.

And Villenueve has just stated he'd like to direct a Bond film.
Denis Villeneuve is ready to direct Bond
Bond is attracting (and paying for) top-level talent. But would they be lining up to direct "Q & Random Bond Girl"? I get the feeling that Eon does not have that much cash to play with, and Bond himself is their top priority.

Skyfall is straight up just a good action Movie.
It's tease, dramatic and told a personal story.
To me, it paved the way from Movies like Mission impossible to be taken more seriously and to take more risks.
Casino Royale is also just a fantastic Movie too

What do you mean by artistic?

The Bourne movies are just straight up actions movies. Same with 24.

I don't think it's impossible, what I've read of the Bond comics kind of goes in that direction, but I don't think you really need to.

Haven't they been trying to do that for years, though?

It felt like they were setting up a potential spin-off for Michelle Yeoh's character in Tomorrow Never Dies. And I'm pretty sure they were planning a Jinx spin-off after Die Another Day, but something sank it.

The problem is, when you got to a James Bond movie, you really want to see James Bond. If they try to do a film set in his universe, a lot of people will be upset if he isn't in it. The same thing happened with Bourne- The Bourne Legacy introduced a new character into the universe, and people didn't care. That's why the next movie brought Bourne back. Same thing with the Halloween series- they tried to make it an anthology series with Halloween 3, but people kept asking where Michael Meyers was. And they could have potentially did it again by killing Michael and making Jamie the new killer in 4, but they whiffed and brought Michael back in 5.

They cold do a spin-off of this series featuring Nomi, but I don't think it will happen.

A ton of top directors from Steven Spielberg to Chris Nolan to Denis Villeneuve have wanted to direct James Bond movies over the years.

The last few have been made by top talent.

Bond has always been an A-list property.
