You mean "doesn't bank entirely on blood, gore, and sex", right?

I am so excited for Astro City and even more so Arrowsmith to return! I also just bought the Autumlands series off ebay as I hadn't honestly heard of it, but looks amazing.

SO INCREDIBLY COOL! This is the best possible comic book news. I'm looking forward to all the new books, and the collections and graphic novels that I haven't yet read.

Yes that is what I actually meant.

After reading the new Astro City book yesterday, I’ve got to say that I forgot how much I loved this series and the way Kurt writes it. It’s something that many comics these days are missing… character building while still world building. These days, a lot of comics are so invested in the storyline that the characters get lost in the process. It has never been the case with Astro City. My heartfelt thanks to the whole team and I can’t wait for more!

If I can afford (and right now that is a major problem for me) I would love to see all of the previous Astro City runs collected into affordable TPBs, deluxe hardcovers, and collectable omnibus.

I wonder if it’ll still contain the artist’s notes like the other editions did.

I’m glad Astro City is back. I got the one shot yesterday. Looking Forward to Free Agents as well. loved Fabian’s Thunderbolts run.

The MetroBooks have only the stories and the covers.

We'll put extras in other editions, but for these we want something simple and straightforward for people who want to read the stories.

Fabian and I were just talking plots yesterday -- fun stuff coming. And watch out for Botokk!

Hello Mr. Busiek, will we see the entire Astro City run collected in Metrobooks? How many volumes will there be? Also, looking back at those first 30 issues do you have any favorites? Jack in the Box is mine from that run! Later, on I am all about Tarnished Angel.

    That's the plan, yes.

It'll take 6 volumes to collect everything up to the Vertigo issue 52.

Hopefully, there'll be more volumes after that, once we've produced enough new material to fill them up.

I think the #1/2 issue came out very well. I also really like the Tarnished Angel and Confession arcs, and I'm proud of a lot of the shorter stories, too.

But it's very hard for me to pick favorites, because I see them from the inside, rather than as a reader does.

    Glad you like 'em!
