Knull was a little all over the place

He ripped Sentry in half and I think he absorbed the Void. He also decapitated a celestial

However, Silver Surfer from what I read, gave Knull a good fight.

Silver Surfer beat him, but he was powered up at the time IIRC.
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

DARKNESS IS TRUTH! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?!

Is about on par with "I'LL KILL YOU TO DEATH."
Did he cry tears of blood? You haven't hit all the checkmarks for 'Baby's First Edgelord Character' unless the character cries tears of blood.
Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence.

His eyes are red and his sword is spiders?

... I suppose the red eyes and spider-sword combo equal tears of blood.

His name can make every nordic country burst into a fit of giggles and/or hollering laughter.

    That is pretty powerful indeed.

I've said this before, but I honestly think that Knull was created because the editorial department thought "Well, Spider-Man has a mystical connection to a cosmic entity as a part of his origin, so why not Venom and Eddie? They're supposed to be Peter's rival/counterpart in all regards, right?" I mean, Venom even became Captain Universe for a time, so I don't think I'm too off-base with my speculation.
    Ichigo: What even *are* you?!

Kenpachi: Some say my mother was a train. Some say that I'm a rejected Godzilla monster too strong for the series canon. But everyone says: I'M THE KEEEEENPACHIIIIII!!!!

The idea of the Symbiotes being the creations of an ancient cosmic horror works in theory. The build up in the first couple of issues was actually pretty good from what I can remember.

It's just Knull himself is a ridiculous dude to try and fill that role. In pretty much every aspect appearance, personality, name etc.

He's just a guy. No real sense of cosmic horror from the dude. Even his backstory just shows him floating in the void before existence. Just some pale skinny dude.

    Just kinda lame.

Knull was hyped to the moon but he was all over the place. King in Black gave symbiotes a pretty interesting backstory and fleshed them out a good bit.

But Knull himself was just....meh. Really felt like a generic doomsday villian. Carnage was honestly a much better villain before and since. Most importantly, he felt like a threat. Carnage ALWAYS feels like a threat.
