Default Spidey guest star in Fantastic Four #37

Been a while since those two met at Lady Liberty… just not under such hot circumstances. I wonder what Peter will bring to the table to help out poor Johnny.

I saw this on preview day and was excited and then remembered it's by Slott.....

    "Flame-face"
    "Big Whoop"
    "Spider-sense tingling"
    "You are freaky hot"
    "Make like a truck"
    "Beep Beep!WaAay back!"

It's so much worse considering Johhny's dialogue is fine here, either Slott hates Spidey or is just the worst writer for him.Why would you ever let this man touch Spider-man again.....

Also they way he wrote Thing w/ Peter was horrible, so no hopes at all

Spidey talks like a Saturday Morning Cartoon... and not a good one either. Like one that tries too hard to be cool or funny, and fails at both. Like a Poochie character.

Spencer is getting a lot of flak lately (some deserved), but I still maintain he was a better Spidey writer than Slott. His stories were a mess, but at least he got Peter's voice.

The dialogue in his run even in the weaker issues always felt "on point".

That's been Slott's MO for a lot of his dialogue as of late.

A Peter and Torch get together wonder what great lesson Peter will give Johnny.

At least, Flame-Face is a dumb nickname friends may give each other, so I'll give that a pass, but the rest... "Make like a truck! Beep beep! Waaayyy back!" What the **** man? It's like it's written by someone who never wrote Spider-Man in their life, which's actually amazing considering how long Slott wrote Spidey.

Yeah, Spencer at his worst had Spidey trying to sound cool in a dorky way, which's not something he does but, still way better than stuff like this lol.

Wonder why, is he spreading himself too thin?

Also man, the last panel in that first page:

Johnny's looking at bit too happy here, and don't think it's a "happy to see a friend" kind .

I'm surprised that Flame-Face was not a thing in the Silver-Age, it would fit Peter back then.

Otherwise it seems that Slott is chanelling the creatives juices from the most boring parts of his run in ASM lol.

Is probably on purpose, i know that some writers like to throw stuff like that beetween Peter and Johnny, i remember that issue in the Civil War 2 spider-mini (i think that it was there) when Peter almost slept with Johnny in the same bed lol. I don't blame Johnny thought, Peter has more chemistry with him than whatever love interest Slott gave him recently lol.

I sometimes wonder how we endured almost an entire decade of Slott at the helm of Spidey. I remember everyone freaking out a bit when he claimed the only way he was leaving Spidey would be if he was fired or if he died and would stay as the sole ASM writer for decades if he could. Luckily, those fears didn’t come to pass.

He lost me at crazy town banana pants, which indicates to me Slott should have spent a little more time working on writing dialogue and a little less time watching "Community".

Right? Just goofy enough for a teenager Peter to use lol.

Hope MJ and Felicia don't show up here then.

    You forget Johnny was naked:

    (Civil War II: Amazing Spider-Man#1)

And then Johnny throws a pillow at Peter's head, same pillow he was using to cover his own junk, this is such a gay porn scenario waiting to happen lol

I don't blame Johnny thought, Peter has more chemistry with him than whatever love interest Slott gave him recently lol.
Well, from what I briefly read of that bird girl Johnny's dating, she's Johnny's own Cindy (before she left ASM of course), so yeah lol

We sure it actually happened there? Sounds like it could be an Urban Legend.

Hope I don't regret this pun immediately after posting.
