Default What Real Life Person Resembles Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) The Most?

Most comic artists aren't great at making the faces of their characters distinct, but the way Oliver Queen has been depicted by artists throughout the years is very... particular.

Arrow's Stephen Amell doesn't look like any Green Arrow from the comics spare the New 52 one.

Neal Adams based his Green Arrow off of Robert Redford, but I honestly don't see it.

When drawing Identity Crisis, Rags Morales modeled Ollie after Layne Stayley, which makes more sense than Redford but I don't think he looked rugged enough.

Most fancasts these days pick Charlie Hunnam, so there's that I guess.
    May we never forget:

    Errol Flynn as Robin Hood.

    Dick Van Dyke.

    Pierce Brosnan with a goatee.

Josh Dallas as Frandal in the first Thor movie:

Funny. From the title, I thought we were supposed to think of people in the real world who act like Green Arrow.

Back when Oliver Queen was dead, before Kevin Smith revived him, I used to see a guy around the city who might have been homeless or just sleeping rough. He had a full blond beard, but he looked like Oliver Queen. I told myself that's who he was. He had left Seattle and come across the border to Vancouver, when he was pushed out of his comic book. Once Ollie was brought back in the comics, I never saw that guy again in the city.

Of course, years later, Stephen Amell showed up in Vancouver to play Ollie Queen. Coincidence? I think not.

I can see the Robert Redford angle. It's the jaw, high cheekbones, and eyes.

    Ethan Hawke isn't bad.

Throw some facial hair on him, and Justin Hartley isn't too far off - especially now that he's got a few more years under his belt.

He strikes me more as New 52 Ollie.

Even though Neal Adams drew characters that looked more realistic, when it came to the super-heroes, they all look like they came from the same family tree. Good looking male model types. As Robert Redford was the most devastatingly handsome man, back in my day, Neal's Oliver Queen looked like that (so did his Aquaman). I read a very long time ago that Redford's natural hair colour was red but he bleached it. As Jeremiah Johnson, you can see that he has a brown-red beard (but that's not saying much, since beards are often a different colour for us blonds).

Other than having light brown hair rather than blond (but it looks blond on the island), I don't see why the O.P. thinks Stephen Amell doesn't look like the comic book character. To me he looks like the 1940s Oliver Queen--when I think the hair was sometimes coloured brown. And to me Justin Hartley looks like the 1950s/1960s Green Arrow.

Watching THE LAST DUEL, I saw Matt Damon as an Oliver Queen type--a scarred and defeated, older Queen. That's if Ollie is shorter than Superman--which in my mind he is.

But not Reservoir Dogs-era Steve Buscemi. That guy literally looks like a cartoon weasel.
