Default Superman clones replace the Primarchs from Warhammer 40k.

In the far future, after the galaxy has been torn asunder by the Age Of Strife, The God Emperor of Mankind searches for his lost sons, stolen from him by the Ruinous Powers of Chaos.

To his surprise, the Emperor gradually discovers that all of his sons have been replaced by duplicates of Clark Kent/Kal-El, a humanoid looking xeno who once protected a parallel reality version of Ancient Terra.

The Emperor gazes into this xeno's mind and sees that he is pure of heart, strong of will, and untainted by chaos. Though he is disappointed to have lost his sons, and suspicious of where they may be, the Emperor decides to make use of what he has. The human race must endure!

Can twenty clones of Superman protect the 30k galaxy, and prevent it from going to pot like the Primarchs did?

Every duplicate of Supes all have the same memories, thoughts, emotions, values, etc as one another. They are unfamiliar with this galaxy, nevertheless they still want to do everything to protect the inhabitants and create a decent life for them all. They still believe in truth, justice, and the American way/a better tomorrow despite how grimdark everything is.

Given that various iterations of Superman have gone evil in much less extreme circumstances than the cartoonishly awful setup of the WH40K universe, I'm not seeing him/them being able to hold the Imperium together.

I mean, part of the reason for the Horus Heresy happening was that the Emperor is a pretty questionable leader, especially to someone of a more conventional system of morality. Horus was Warmaster and the most favoured of the Emperor's children and he was like "a lot of this is pretty suss," so I could see the Supermen conspiring against him and that breeds sedition and discontent.

20 clones of Superman in the 40k Universe? Well first they do their damnedest to over throw the Emperor, because i dont see any version of classic Superman being ok with wholesale slaughter of alien species. So maybe they win, but they lose a bunch facing off against Jimmy Space and Malcador. Then the Supermen try to end the Mechanicum, and the purging of mutants and psykers. It may work, it might not. The Chaos Gods will definitely start trying to tempt the Supermen. Superman has faced Ultradimensionals, but i am unsure as to where the board pegs Superman in terms of willpower and integrity.

The core point of the 40k Universe is that the way the Imperium does things and the way Jimmy did things quantitatively made things worse. Trillions of souls consigned to the warp during xenocide. I think things go pear shaped after that, with Chaos winning, since the Supermans will have little knowledge of the Warp and unable to interact with it.

Does anybody or anything in the 40K setting have a way to cope with Class 100 bricks blitzing them?

Psykers are a pretty good option. WH40K is also pretty big on Pyrrhic victories, Supermen might be able to win the battle but not without horrendous things happening elsewhere.

Superman can resist psi attacks and fight back with Torquasm-Vo and Torquasm-Rao. (Time to reset the clock on the Torquasm references.)
