I thought this series would be another loose adaptation of the games. So it might have elements of 3 but do it's own thing like the Castlevanias.

Well, I hope they don't veer too far off from the games compared to Castlevania.

Like not that DMC is high literature but there is a distinct story and characterization involved.

I liked Castlevania but I wouldn't want a crossover. But if it's a good story I'm game. Maybe Dante could cross paths with Soma and Julius?

However if DMC crossed over with Darkstalkers....you'd have my attention. .
