Question Will the new Legion of Superhero vs the Justice League event be canon?

    Hi guys

A few days ago, DC announced a crossover between the Legion of Superheroes and the Justice League. Will this event be canon in the main DC universe or will it be an elseworld story like Justice League / Mighty Morphin Power Rangers?

It depends. A new crisis will begin next year that will lead to a bigger event in 2023. If it becomes canon it will probably be only temporary until it's reset by the next crisis.

Yeah, it'll be canon... until either the Legion or the main DC universe gets rebooted yet again.

Canon is non-existent at DC. Nothing sticks, so nothing matters.

I collected Bendis's Legion and found it just okay. Couldn't see anything in it that would make it a fan favorite title again. Even Sook's art, which I always love, didn't work with big groups of characters. Won't be picking up JLA vs LSH. It's time for Bendis's Legion to get rebooted!

That’s true for everything else DC is putting out that’s “canon” lol. Anything and everything is liable to get reset so you just enjoy what you like when it comes.

I wouldn't say nothing sticks. What's popular or notable sticks. Even if it's erased, if it's popular or notable enough, it can come back. For example, John Stewart was a guardian, then he wasn't, and now it's looking like he will be again. Just enjoy what you enjoy. The shifting timeline is ingrained into the larger narrative at this point.

    Wait, this is a thing?
I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?

It will probably be about as monumental as the Jurgens Titans or the electric Superman in a year or two.

In the short term yes. DC seems intent on ramming Bendis's Legion reboot down our throats in hopes of attracting enough young readers to the title....to which I say Bwa Ha! Ha! Ha!, good luck on that one.

Long term, that depends on whether DC wants a Legion title that ever sells again, because without a reversion of Brin, Garth & the rest of the members to their original forms.....you might as well send that team straight to the comic graveyard.

We can only hope it wont be canon or will at least be used to usher the real Legion back into focus. (Although I do miss some of the previous booted characters like the aforementioned Thunder (Shazam like character), Kent Shakespear, Andromeda, Catspaw, Dragonmage, Xs, Gates, Dragonwing...we could fill an entire Legion with characters that have been deleted from reboots!

That would be something interesting to see: a real Legion Lost.

Isn't XS the only one of those who exists now? She showed up in Williamson's last Flash arc Finish Line, presumably she's still around in the future (probably restored to the timeline when Bart was) but is no longer a Legionnaire (not unlike how Jon is now an ex-Legionnaire, and Clark, Conner and Kara's tenures are forgotten).

Yeah, a 'Legion of One World' that only uses characters unique to a single version, and not characters that have three or four different versions (like Brainy and the Founders), such as Gazelle, Kid Quantum II, Dragonmage, Tellus and Tyroc could be interesting.

I always liked the newer heroes, but was never sure what era they belonged in to vote for them. I read the second collection of bendis’s legion, and while I like some things, I still think the team is a bit too big, and everything’s still too talky. Do we really need doctor fate and the white witch in the same team? Chameleon boy and monster boy? I liked the new version of mordru, and mon el being a descendant of superboy, as well as krypton being around, we’re nice touches. Ultra boy is a bit too arrogant for my liking.
