ESPN estimates it as 14 or 15 games, should be sometime next month depending on how many games he sits out

We dont have a college Basketball thread but has anyone else seen the story about Alabama Basketball Player Darius Miles charged with Capital Murder in regards to the shooting death of a 23 year old woman.

The shooting happened when two groups had a minor disagreement.

Sad news in our guns are the solution to everything culture.

I heard the news this morning. Once upon a time, when people had a beef, they’d ball up their fists, beat each other’s brains out, then it’d be all over. Today, arguments are settled with guns, a sad commentary on life in America.

Chris Ford, who won a title as a player with the Boston Celtics, has passed away. His playing career is also notable for the fact that he was the first player to hit a three pointer in league history. After his playing career, he started coaching. He won two titles as an assistant coach with the Celtics and later became their head coach. He would go on to coach the Bucks, Clippers and 76ers.

Personally, I'm saddened. I liked him a lot when he was the head coach of the Celtics.

Don't fret too much over this. Almost every argument today is settled with fists, if it comes to violence. Even a city like Chicago has only recently approached the murder rate it had from the late 70s to early 90s. NYC had more than 1,000 murders every year from the 1960s to mid-90s. Last year, it had about 450. I don't know WHY people think today is more violent than previous generations, but I very much recall the violence of my youth (bn. 1966).

He was on the Pistons when I first started watching basketball, then was traded to the Celtics. While I pulled against Boston, I always wanted him to do well. RIP.

Starting All Stars, Lebron James ties Kareem for most all star appearances at 19 and sets the record for most consecutive appearances

I think LeBron will miss a game while they are away so he can get the scoring title against the Thunder or Bucks at home. He needs about 6 more games.

Joel Embiid went off on Denver to the tune of 47 points and 18 rebounds in a 126-119 win over the Nuggets. Short and sweet, “The Process” was a beast today.

And he got a Twitter shout out from Triple H for the "Suck It" gesture Embiid got fined for. So he had a pretty good day.

Lebron leapfrogged Mark Jackson and Steve Nash to move to 4th on the all time assist list, 89 points away from Kareem, it'll almost certainly happen sometime next week
