Congrats to babyblob for being declared victor.

I do wonder how often Marvel comics covers beat out DC covers . . .

Congratulations to babyblob for a marvelous cover featuring a character who grew a whole lot for someone whose power was shrinking.

As for what the captain has learned in this contest's peak of the week, he is once again reminded of the lingering old school sexism of past comics (as well as other media). He is awestruck by the women fans who have lived this hobby with far fewer character examples to look up to (for want of a better term). I am reminded of a recent discussion I had with a co-worker (a woman) about the latest James Bond movie and the possibility of a woman James Bond. Even though she was not a fan, per se, she had a very good idea of the character and his particular qualities. Being one who all too often falls into the habit of mansplaining (note: this is when a man explains something to a woman that she probably already knows better than he does), I listened to her. Damn, that really does help a conversation!

Back to whatever main point I was making, although I am far from picking up on the message, I am all for added representation and the plethora of fans that will hopefully bring in.

I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?

There were two covers I thought of before I chose the Ms. Tree cover, but since Zelena specified a female character free of clichés and my choices were biographical comics about women, I decided not to use them as I didn't think biography fit the parameters, but thought I would share them here...

the first a comic about a comic artist...

and the other one of Jim Ottoviani's science comics focusing on pioneering woman scientists...

both are great reads if either catches your interest.

By the way, thanks to Nschornhorst and Kai "the spy" for supporting Barbara as a bad-ass.

I don't know about you, but none of my cover entries from Marvel ever won (and this goes back to December, 2020 when I started entering these contests).

You might be right but I notice that more vintage covers win over the newer ones ...or maybe that's just me.

Finally… Thank you, Sharkerbob. (It was during the night for me…)

    Congratulations, babyblob!!!

And thank you to all the participants for having posted so many beautiful covers… You may not have won but you have expressed all the love you have for these characters and I felt it.

Hey the one I voted for! Congrats babyblob! Thanks to those who voted for me. This was fun. I really enjoyed the stale mate that we had there a while.
