Default DC Challenge. Can you solve it before we do?

"Can you solve it before we do?" Anyone remember dc challenge? A 12 issue series that had a new creative team each issue. They would end each issue in a cliffhanger and the next team has to try to solve it and add to the main mystery. Anyone in the main dc universe could be used. Funny thing is the joker was the host and would break the fourth wall getting into fights with plastic mans sidekick at times! What did you guys think of this series? Did it do good or fail?

No way a story like this can be coherent. But at least they were trying new things

    No, it wasn't.

But it was an interesting ride.

There was another try out with the Kamandi Challenge, with basically the same premise (different creative teams in each issue) but with Kamandi in a wild ride on the post apochaliptic earth. It was more coherent than the original edition.

It was a fun series setting up the incoming creative team for each issue. I always enjoy things like this.

Again joker fighting with plastic mans sidekick was pretty funny. Joker "well guess we might as well check on what's his name" Plas sidekick (willie was his name?) "About time clown." Also yes only those two broke the fourth wall in the story. Not even plastic man did.

Some pages with joker. Not every issue had him as host.

    Actually, try "Woozy Winks".

    I enjoyed the Kamandi Challenge.

The only reason to read DC Challenge was to enjoy cameos from characters not seen elsewhere.

Actually, for me it was fun to see if / how well the different writers picked up the story from where the previous writer left it and what direction it went in from there.

Yeah one issue ended with batman inches away from falling in a volcano. Superman was defeated so he can't save him. That's the cliffhanger.

Next writer solves it. Mr mxyzptlk saves batman looking for superman! When batman tells him superman may be dead it ticks mxy off as he likes to pick on superman and can't if he is dead and heads off to look for him setting him up in the story for the next writer!

    Yes, that was a plus.
