Default Which X-Book Has The Most Well-Written Origin Story?

Not asking who your favorite team is. Just want to know what the best group-coming-together story there is.

Not just looking for first-time team formations, but also team reformations.

Recommendations on specific team iterations are welcome.

Are you talking about in the current era? Or just in general, at any point in time over the time horizon of the X-books?

Personally I loved how organically the Uncanny X-Force team came together, as it basically started because Archangel was hunting for Apocalypse and employed Deadpool to do so. Well, Deadpool found him… or at least his followers, and the team came together from there to stop his return. Good stuff.

Definitely, my choice would be the unofficial "X-Trinity" from X-Cutioner's Song

Yeah, that was a hardcore crew for sure. I loved when Logan asked how long it would take if they pitched in and helped Cable recalibrate his body slide tech, and he replied that it would take much longer if they did. Ha.

I was also always intrigued by The Pack from the Mutant X universe, where Logan, Creed and Kyle Gibney — three mutants with the same power sets and all of whom hail from Canada — came together as a feral team of sorts…

I think it’s high time somebody acknowledged that these three have to be related somehow. Perhaps they’re all Hudsons? Logan’s mother was for sure.

All new Xmen as in the Giant Size team of Thunderbird etc.. There was a reason, to save the original team. They were from all over the place but their personalities showed immediately and most of all they lost one of their own quick so tragedy in a way shaped them from the start and i think made them closer and more protective of each other.

edit: i include Scott as a member of the Giant Size team.

    Generation X during Phalanx Covenant.

Still my favorite X-team for sure. Quite sad that this team never really got a lot of love from Marvel after the 90s.

Ultimate X-Men by Millar and Uncanny X-Force by Remender. I really enjoyed how those teams came together.
    You brought back Wolverine

Kyle and Yost's run on New X-Men. It's the last time that a younger X-Men actually felt like they really mattered to the direction of the books, and weren't just a disposable and interchangeable generation of wallpaper who exist solely to be tortured and killed to make the O5+ sad.

And speaking of New X-Men & the next generation...

Another favorite get-together origin would be from the 2003 version of...

    New Mutants

Havoks brotherhood was a pretty cool mash up of characters.

Generation X had a really tied together origin.
