Default Savor the scintillating saga of the Neo

It was 21 years ago, if it was a day, and the man who birthed a franchise was returning home. Instead of using the same old adversaries that he spent decades cultivating, he decided to do something NEW, and created the NEO, who was composed of several different clans. We have the War Clam, the Guardian Clan, the Shockwave Riders, MindClan, etc. there were a lot of frigging clans, okay? Anyway, the Neo represent the next evolution of mutants, who were content waiting for the earth’s humans to go eff themselves into oblivion. Until one day the High Evolutionary and Mr. Sinister decided to eff around and found out, turning off the mutant gene in all of Earth’s mutants. Well, that killed a lot of Neo. Including their leader, Domina’s daughter. Clearly that put the rest of the world on their **** list, especially the X-Men, and Mr. Sinister. So all out war was declared, and we get to meet all kinds of new evolutionary offshoots, including Tullamore Voge, and the Crimson Pirates, who will forever be in my head canon as inter dimensional pirates who are also Neo—(I don’t care if you think they are or not, this is my story). We go about a decade without any mention of them, until Chris Yost decides to use them in his Giant Size X-Men…just to kill them. I should have expected that. It’s the guy who did the world a favor by blowing up the New Flotsam on a bus.

Anyway, I’ve made this thread to celebrate these under appreciated relics until I move on to my next obsession, which could happen by the end of business day. *Shrug*

Neil Sharra? He was around during that run.

As for the Neo… what if… what if… now that we know about the First Mutant Age and the forgotten island of Arakko, which was banished to the hellish dimension Amenth for centuries; we found out that the Neo were actually descendants of some of the original Arakki mutants who somehow were left behind when Apocalypse closed the gate, so they stayed hidden from the world out of anger at him for that and also just waiting for humanity to die out… until the High Evolutionary and Sinister shut off the mutant gene, as you said, and they came out of hiding.

Just a thought, but that would be a cool and very logical connection between the two.

Gross. I had managed to purge the Neo from memory. Thanks for nothing.

Ah, they weren’t so bad. I really enjoyed the Kubert drawn issues over in Uncanny X-men. That was a fun team… Storm, Jean Grey, Beast, Cable, Gambit.

Which would lead to a great trivia question. Who was the leader of the team I know you know it. I know it as well lol. See if the other members of the group know

Since Domina's the best thing to come out of the Neo...

    ...I voted for Junction!

And don't forget Killian... solely for the striking visual.

The Neo were before my time as a reader, so I missed out on that era. Which issues would you guys say are their greatest hits?

I can't really pick a favorite yet, but I like Junction because she's cute.

I do indeed know it… but I’ll keep it to myself and let others guess.

Lol the leadership from this era was so wtf. You had Cable, Storm, and Dani free and part of the roster, but you chose those two to lead?
