It's done filming and was in post-production. They spent $70+ million on it already.

Pretty sure it does. New regime doesn’t want to soft reboot DCEU as the older one did and so is probably redoing Flash both to get rid of Ezra and make Keaton’s Batman a one off thing and keep Affleck’s Batman (hence the cameo in Aquaman 2 which will probably also limit or get rid of Heard’s Mera asap). Affleck has probably only agreed so he can do another leading project via HBO Max, maybe Batman vs Deathstroke. They might even can Abrams’ Superman and bring back Cavill at this rate…

Either this movie was really really bad or it means that WB has a whole new game plan mapped out for the DCU and the Bat-line films in praticular and this movie doesn't fit in with those plans at all.

The new guy in charge is not messing around. If he thinks a film is a turkey he is not afraid to slash it no matter how far into production it is. WB has been such a clown show for the last 20 years when it comes to DC properties having a guy who is not afraid to make the hard choices and piss people off is probably a good thing.

Nostalgia aside, I think they understand it's not a viable option to have a 70+ year old actor as your primary film Batman. So what you say makes sense.

It also sounds like Michael B. Jordan's Superman project has been scrapped also. Wouldn't surprise me if they wind up scrapping Blue Beetle also even if it's finished filming.

Very interesting times at WB indeed.

if the movie is done and past the post stage, just throw it on HBO Max as originally intended. Maybe get some subscribers out of it, to just scrap it in entirely.....wow
