It was mediocre IMO, and finished waay to soon.Iceman did stuff, they all did but it felt like half an issue stretched into a full one.

1.Iceman saves them
2.They use powers together to create oxygen and heat, Bishop and Shaw create a kinetic propulsion chance reaction which Bishop releases so that they can get back to the Ship which Emma is still linked w/
3.They overshoot, Kitty jumps from Ice-ball to the Ship and fights the guy.
4.She wins, the rest get back to the ship.
5.They all get back to Arrako and drop the guy off.

It was fine filler. Everyone got to do a little something, but it was still very much the Kate and Emma show, which is getting tedious. It's weird to me that there was not a single mention of Christian, who used to be the captain of the Mercury. Ready for the relaunch.

This book has definitely lost it's appeal, if not it's way entirely. Ready for the relaunch as well.

This story was a fun traditional comic story. It did feel like it was stretched a bit.

Iceman yet again wasn't even featured in summary page with the rest of the cast....

Maybe this issue could have been a data page lol. I think at least Claremont would have polished this off in about 3 pages and still had plenty of space for some characters to be dominated, mind, body and soul in black spiky outfits.

The data page that restated Bishop's intention to establish a war college was probably the most interesting bit of the comic. Hopefully this idea gets developed on page after Inferno, it has potential.

Could have been a data page. Or even just had them all die and show back up like nothing happened. Or even to investigate how they all suddenly died. "Lost in space" cliffhangers and stories kind of lose their impact when they can pop back up back home like its no big deal.

I feel like this is more of a breather issue (kinda like the first Excalibur right after XOS), which is fine if they weren't wrapping the series up by December. It was a nice showing of powers/team effort, a bit of Kate's backstory (that I did not know), and some one-liners from Emma (although I find them on the cheesier side). Also not living for the art.

Gotta be honest, I hate Eden Rixlo. He feels more like a Star Wars character than a Marvel one.

The war game idea seems interesting. It would be cool to see an island-scale war game or battle royale or something. But I feel like it'd inevitably devolve into wanking the same few characters.

Did Bishop spell his own name wrong on that letter at the end? Or was his name always spelled "Lukas" instead of "Lucas?"

Yeah, this issue didn't really move things along in any meaningful way, but I did enjoy seeing the team work together. Bishop and Shaw punching each other to get Bishop charged up was fun.
