We all like the 616 universe and everything in it, but sometimes we need some fresh air, and that's what alternate universes are for. Which is the best one for you?
To keep it interesting, let's focus on significant alternate universes (with an ongoing series or several set in it, revisited several times, etc.), not the ones used for a single story and then forgotten, such as those "What if...?" ones. But if it is a crossover with many tie-in comics to explore the new reality, such as House of M or Age of Apocalypse, then it's fine.
And now that we're at it, let's include alternate timelines and/or futures in it, with the same rules. The basic idea is the same: a new setting where things happen, and where some characters may move from and to on occasion. In fact, it's sometimes confusing if a given setting if one or the other.

While I didn't like Spider-Girl as a comics, this how I wish the main universe was by now.

I'll say this for the Ultimate Universe, Bendis' Ultimate Peter Parker is still an all-time fave (especially, the Bendis/Lafuente version):

I spent a lot of time with Mayday Parkers Universe because she had another way to approach villains, instead of punching them. MC2 was this softer Universe and it was dictated by Maydays personality. She is perhaps the strongest female personality as a superhero. Her father was confrontational and lost a leg, but his daughter was better than him.

MC2. It was like the classic Lee-Kirby Marvel Universe streached on forever. A-Next is one of my favorite Marvel books ever.
Also enjoyed Age of Apocalypse and the New Universe.

The ultimate universe, but I’m a little biased as for a while, that was my Marvel Universe. Regardless, it’s a product of the early 00’s, and even Ultimates 3, for as terrible as it was, was still an enjoyable read for how bat **** insane it was.
I’ve got most of the Ultimate Universe up to 2005 and it’s just a fun read.
