Piccolo vs Vegeta (Alternate Namek Saga)

If Piccolo (after fusing with Nail) killed off Second Form Freeza before he transformed again and as soon as the Namekian did, he demands Vegeta to take him on so he can finish him off as promised. Looking forward to the challenge, Vegeta prepares himself for the fight.

Could Piccolo (Post-Nail fusion) beat the Saiyan Prince even long after he had gained a few Zenkai Boosts during his visit on Namek?

Or do you see Vegeta coming out on top?

Also, if one or other dies, what would Krillin, Gohan, Dende and Goku (once he's heal from his wounds)'s reactions be soon after the fighters already had their death match?

Piccolo was duking it out relatively evenly with 2nd Form Frieza whom Vegeta couldn't even scratch. Veggy is getting wrecked.

Going forward in time, what would the consequences be with either Piccolo or Vegeta dead?

So we're basically talking Vegeta right before he died? Starting from a distance, he got to Gohan in time to smack him out of the way of a blast from fourth form Frieza that no one else, including Piccolo, could even react to. It's hard to compare him with Piccolo at that point based on feats simply because we know Frieza spent a lot of time just fucking with him, but that particular shot fairly clearly establishes him as being the only one in the group who can meaningfully interact with fourth form Frieza. Piccolo manages to blindside him at one point, but that's not saying much since Frieza (at this point) can't sense ki. After that it's pretty much just Frieza pummeling Piccolo senseless. He never does anything to suggest that he's faster than when he was a statue compared to Vegeta.

So Vegeta should comfortably wreck him

Oh I misread. I think he got the last boost while Piccolo was fighting second form Frieza, didn't he? Or at least the mortal wound that led to it.

But yeah, if it's Vegeta before that last power up, he has zero chance of taking on Piccolo then.
