It's not a good sign when i feel the election reaction strips will hold up better in terms of story and characterization for these characters than this one-shot.

Sunspot: His features here look wrong. "Black" people come in many looks. Tabby looks wrong with long straight hair somehow. Banshee needs a new look.

I think in the hands of a skilled writer this off beat cast could be awesome because they have history. I just don’t have any faith after reading Excalibur where they all had history and it falls flat on any of that. Tini just can’t execute her ideas well. She’s not a great writer. That’s my opinion

Don’t only we, the audience, know who was up for the vote, therefore who “lost”, in the meta sense? I thought in-story basically every mutant who wanted to be an X-Man put in for it, and they were voted simultaneously on? Are these the only additional mutants who wanted to be on the core X-Team?
Can’t imagine the reason they’d get together for…well…anything.
