They already established Days of Future Past, but only it's Bishops timeline so AU's exist. But a lot of her introductory points have been given to others in the show so maybe in season 3? Honestly if there's no Kitty, Rachel isn't coming.

Rachel is just too convoluted a character to adapt on TV or in movies. She barely makes sense in the comics!

Yeah the time travel is weird in the show because they can go back from where they originated. Like Bishop vs Cable fighting over the virus infecting mutants or not. Bishop stopped it, which ruined Cable's timeline, so Cable went back in the past and made Wolverine get infected instead, which restored Cable's timeline. So in the show it appears that time travelers don't create alternate realities, they just change the timeline.

Meet Cable, the mercenary mutant from the future who was born in the past to the clone of Jean Grey who tried to sacrifice him as a child but was later infected by a virus and almost dies but is brought to the future to live and is cloned and that clone becomes evil (like his mother) and eventually coming to the past but has existed in multiple ages at the same time.

The agreement also provides Disney with the opportunity to reunite the X-MEN with the Marvel family under one roof and create richer, more complex worlds of inter-related characters and stories that audiences have shown they love. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels.

Maybe that'll be the B plot while the main plot is U-Men for some reason?

Never liked those birds. Imperial Guard slaps though which is Shi'ar's only saving grace.

Honestly I'm not entirely sure they would've introduced Cable had he been established as Scott and Maddie's kid before appearing on the show. Wasn't he supposed to be Xavier's replacement when they first created him?

While you don't expect adaptations to be exactly the same, you do expect them to adhere to certain basics and essentials, which this did not do.

That's the one sole hope I have for this cartoon. That hopefully the new showrunner taking his place has more sense and respect than Beau.

For you, and mainly because it was rendered in animation with voices and music. Give the actual Genosha events the same treatment and it would be better in all respects than what this cartoon did.

People like to ignore what could have been in favor of acting like what currently exists is the best thing ever.
No. Giving it voices and animation doesn't make something better. Sometimes the animated adaptations are worse. Its better because of the writing and how it was a more personal story.

"What could have been" in this case is focusing on a character that has virtually nothing to do with the show. Polaris being in this story wouldn't improve it for anybody other than you.

I think it's absurd to be blinded to any merits of the episode because your personal favorite isn't there. But we get it. No Polaris means it's bad. Change the record.

People thought Cap would be the big guest appearance in this show and then Ronan the Accuser shows up .

I do wonder if they're going to use this to confirm Xavier is still alive like he was at the end of the original show when everyone acts like he's dead.

    Indeed.

The show allready had to be much more "economic" with it's main cast than the comics, to the point where even many characters who are/were normaly part of the "core team" had to be reduced to guest appearances.

Since Bishop was part of the Jim Lee image the creators are known to have drawn from for the team composition and visual design of the characters, it's obvious why he got priority over Rachel (who was over in Excalibur at the time).

She also has the problem that her powerset is roughly the same as Jean's, so in terms of visual display or team composition she would constantly compete with the later. Also unlike the comics there is no satelite show ala Excalibur for her to be moved to and have her own moments and stories.

Even if she was just reduced to a guest appearance like many other major X-men, the fact that she is officialy the daughter of two major X-men make her likely too important for the story to ignore

So leaving her out, except for maybe a visual cameo in certain scenes (like the original show did), sadly seems to have been a rather reasonable choice by the creators.

Though that being said, some day she'll get her chance in an adaptation. Maybe one day they'll try to create the X-men version of Batman Beyond and she is chosen as one of the main cast. Who knows?

The same TV shows and movies that always streamline or alter things to fit their own continuity or interpretation?

She the daughter of Scott Summers and Jean Grey from a dark future where she was forced to hunt down other mutants and somehow ends in the present. That's the gist of her character and all the creators need to include to adapt her.

Everything else including the phoenix force or the future in question being the Days of Future Past story are optional.
