Default DC cities with a jazz history?

A bit of an odd question, I'll grant you, but have any of the DC cities ever been mentioned as having a prominent place in the history of jazz? Obviously, in the real world, we start with New Orleans. I hear a lot about New York and Chicago (including black jazz musicians being paid much better there than down south). Then a few more cities on a lower tier or later time frame. Still, wondered if DC had ever mentioned anything of the sort.

Hawkman used to operate out of St. Roch which was basically New Orleans.

I'm assuming Gotham City has had some jazz background.

And there was a three-issue series called Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight: Jazz back in 1995.
