Default Could having a very black soul show that one is not pure of heart?

Could the person whose soul is very black be not pure of heart?

Like James Brown? He did slap some women around, so not sure about pure of heart. Who did you have in mind? For context:

What color do souls normally come in?

Can you get them in a choice of exciting decorator colors?

Depends on what it is for. if it was like to save the life of a loved one you are good. But if you sold it to get Super Bowl tickets your heart is black as night!

Nope. Soul color is just like skin color, its merely a surface thing.
Every day is a gift, not a given right.

The soul does not exist, and "pure of heart" is an outdated and fraudulent concept based on archaic Christianity.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

What about having blackened sole for dinner?

    Does that count?

Technically speaking no. Pure of heart, implies some sort of innocence & natural benevolence that hasn't been corrupted by the cruel forces of evolution, or if you like, dark supernatural forces.

Harry Potter for instance can be considered pure of heart, despite his connection to Voldemort, he never succumbs to the dark forces that would blacken his soul. He remains, honest, caring and trustworthy.

Voldemort's soul on the other hand was very black, as well as Bellatrix, they are both beyond redemption, as seen in the end of the series, when Voldermort's soul has been shattered in the afterlife and appears beyond repair.

Once a character has been corrupted in their life by dark forces, even if they are heroic in the end (Severus Snape) they ultimately can't return to being pure of heart, they've been tainted by the supernatural or outside world in some way.

It does if you add slaw, potato salad, and a beer.

Does Barney the dinosaur have a black soul, especially if being attacked by mosquitoes who had their wings plucked off so they have to use tiny electric wheelchairs to get around?
