A positive addition caused by the MCU is James Wesley, assistant of the Kingpin. He appeared in the Daredevil series and was killed in the first season, but remains alive and well in the Daredevil comic. Nowadays it's hard to imagine Kingpin without him hanging around to receive orders or to give him some "are you sure you want to do that?" advise.
Guardians of the Galaxy and Shuri are the two big ones though, in the case of the former, Bendis' change to their characterization predated the movie.
Nick Fury is another weird one since technically, the Ultimate Universe had already enacted that change, and Marvel media at the time was already following suit. Still would have preferred if they just brought over Ultimate Fury along with Miles during Secret Wars 2015 rather than all of that Nick Fury Jr. convoluted stuff.
The artist formerly known as OrpheusTelos.
Hopefully nothing bad happens, but, wait and see as always lol.
Man, really? Kamala has a cool enough power set and they're changing it like this? Blergh...
And that makes me wonder why they bothered now, considering that Fury Jr. barely shows up.
Wesley isn't changed that much compared to when he showed up in Born Again, but it is nice MCU made him return.
What I find to be weird is that X-Men Legends used Black Fury, which only makes sense superficially since the characters use their Ultimate costumes, but the story is 616's style, then the games that are basically the sequels, Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2, change to White Fury.
Granted, Black Fury was a pretty minor character in X-Men Legends, but it's kinda funny how it changed between one and the other, now UA3 is using Black Fury again lol.
I think back when Nick Fury Jr. was created, they weren't exactly planning who they'd bring over from Ultimate to 616, if they were planning that at all, so coming up with him makes some sense to replace White Fury.Still would have preferred if they just brought over Ultimate Fury along with Miles during Secret Wars 2015 rather than all of that Nick Fury Jr. convoluted stuff.
Either that or they didn't want to wait for Secret Wars and decided to rush it lol.
Would be funny if Ultimate Fury came and took over 616's SHIELD, 'cause he certainly has experience with becoming an important figure after swapping universes, he did to that when he went to Supreme Power's universe .
"Battle scars", the story that introduced the Ultimate Fury facsimile into the 616 comics, is from 2011. By this point "Ultimatum" had done its harm, but things at the Ultimate inprint were being reorganized and many important artists were working there. Bendis killed Peter Parker and, after the funeral in "Fallout" he introduced Miles Morales, a brand new character with his own cast. Reed Richards became evil in "Ultimate Doomsday", the X-men were relaunched in "Ultimate Comics: X" which introduced new characters (including Jimmy Hudson), there were two Ultimates comics, "Ultimate Avengers" and "New Ultimates" that had a crossover and then a relaunch of the adjetiveless Ultimates by Hickman, and even Thor, Captain America and Hawkeye had solo limited series.
Seems quite clear that, despite of Ultimatum, Marvel was not planning to close Ultimate Marvel in 2011.
