Default Could the Legion of Doom Carry a Book? And Who Should Be on the Roster, if. . .?

    . . . you're limited to 1 villain per rogues gallery?

The original 13 member line-up is still the best IMO:

    Lex Luthor
    Brainiac
    Bizarro
    Toyman
    Riddler
    Scarecrow
    Cheetah
    Giganta
    Black Manta
    Sinestro
    Gorilla Grodd
    Captain Cold
    Solomon Grundy
Currently(or soon to be) Reading: Alan Scott: Green Lantern, Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Jay Garrick: The Flash, Justice Society of America, Power Girl, Superman, Shazam, Titans, Wesley Dodds: Sandman, Wonder Woman, & World's Finest: Teen Titans.

They totally could, although you would have to write it in a way where it makes sense that the League wouldn’t immediately shut them down. I’d go with a lineup of:

    Brainiac
    Bane
    Circe
    The Fisherman
    Captain Cold
    Atrocitus
    Protex
    Queen Shrike

Creative team wise I’d go with Dan Watters and Doug Mahnke

Sure. It would have to be a Villian versus Villian story. Like the Legion decides to take on Darkseid.

They could fight the heroes of other worlds or of other countries, long as they aren’t killing Leaguers there’s no plot armor protecting other heroes. But yeah they would also totally be fighting with other villains.

Yes they can, make a multiverse team where they’re taking on the Crime Syndicate for control of Earth 3! My lineup would be:

    Lex Luther
    The Joker
    Cheetah
    Black Manta
    Reverse Flash
    Sinestro
    Black Adam
    Deathstroke
    Killer Frost

With the right hook a LoD title could work. The Superior Foes of Spider-Man managed to be a critical darling, it's not beyond the LoD to at least churn out a decent run.

You wouldn't even necessarily need them to deal with "even evil-er" threats. Handled correctly, with the right goals, you could put the LoD against heroes. As the stars of the book the LoD has to eek out something resembling a victory (Aat least in most arcs), but that doesn't *have* to mean dead heroes or world tyranny either.

As for a roster....I think it'd be more important to get some interesting, quality villains with flexible goals, rather than just grabbing each Leaguer's archnemesis and throwing them into a group.

    So perhaps something like.....

    Lex Luthor.
    Ra's al'Ghul.
    Black Adam.
    Ocean Master.
    Vandal Savage.
    Eclipso.
    Granny Goodness.
Neron (or Blaze, if you wanna get more women in there).
"We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe."

I like this idea. Especially if you play up the work place comedy aspect like JLU did. It would be interesting if you put them on Earth 3 and have them fight the CSA and try to rule that world.

    I would go with:

    Lex Luthor

    Riddler

    Giganta

    Reverse Flash

    Star Sapphire

    Black Manta

    The Wizard

    Count Vertigo

I think it totally could be a book...people have said they'd have to fight other/worse villains, but who's to say they can't have victories over the heroes, too? Not everything has to be life/death or world-toppling...smaller victories can help sell the point too.

Anyway, my line-up. One rogue per gallery, per the rules, but still attempting to get to thirteen members. Going for something a bit different, a bit darker, more sinister and cerebral:

    1. Lex Luthor (Superman)
    2. Bane (Batman)
    3. Doctor Poison (Wonder Woman)
    4. Black Manta (Aquaman)
    5. Savitar (Flash)
    6. Black Hand (Green Lantern)
    7. Bette Noir (Martian Manhunter)
    8. Onomatopoeia (Green Arrow)
    9. White Canary (Black Canary)
    10. Lion-Mane (Hawkman)
    11. Chronos (Atom)
    12. Killer Frost (Firestorm)
    13. Sabbac (Shazam)

I love the original lineup, but there's a certain trapped in amber sense with them. These guys are always going to be around and they're never really going to change much. I think a new series should be a reinvention, the way Mystique reinvented the Brotherhood over on X-Men. I think I'd be more interested in a newer lineup where more unexpected things could happen seeing a bunch of villains we've never seen interact with one another.

    I'd be interested in:
    - Black Adam (yes, make him a full-on villain again)
    - Bane
    - Cyborg Superman
    - Black Hand
    - Silver Swan
    - Johnny Sorrow
    - Emerald Empress
    - Blackfire
    - Dr Psycho
    - Queen Bee
