The author predicted Darwin, Phoenix, Cable, X-Man as possible winner.

In my opinion, I think Gambit will win in this kind of game
By his name he like to gamble which the game wants , he survives every trial in his life as a orphan and thief. He might win not a noble , he might use tricky in the game of marbles. Some of the game is easy for him thr first game stop (his agility will help him).
So who do you think can win the game without destroying the whole game(Magneto can easily destroyed the set but can he win the team tug of war) Gambit can play as team player.

Even if he can't die that doesnt mean his powers would let him win the actual games. Being bulletproof wouldnt mean he could actually win red light green light

They are super heros. Either they all survive and win the games until they get the chance to escape or they just overwhelm the guards the moment they realize peoples lifes are on the line.

Even if it would just be a single one of them, somehow trapped in it, they would win by will or super power, because they are main characters.

You can't take a type of story which requires an everyman protagonist in order to have stakes and feel oppressive and throw super hero characters in it, because it just breaks the feel and point of the entire story.

It would only work if the entire point of the story is about the super hero forced in a situation, where they can survive thanks to their powers or skills, but can't fullfill their function in saving other people. Which would not be the same anymore and also needlessly cruel.

Besides do we really need this kind of topic after we allready had to see the mess that was Avengers: The Arena?

Very tough call. Considering the abilities and skills damn near anyone of the mutants could win Squid Game. I think it would be more interesting if no powers could be used and it's just intellect, talent, skills, and cunning.

Squid Boy. Its literally his brand, I mean c'mon now.

But also Juggernaut basically carries him through the entire game and at the final bout just yeeets himself from the arena so that Sammy can win because he still feels guilty about his lil' buddy getting ganked all those years ago and figures this is a great way to finally make it up to him for that whole mess. Plus, he's the fucking Juggernaut and so the death traps that cancel other players, like, y'know, existentially and what not.....Cain they mostly just leave singed and annoyed.

(I mean sure, the game's creators probably thought they had whipped up death traps that could kill even him, but if Cain had a dollar for every time some rando bragged that they'd figured out a way to take out the Juggernaut but in a shocking plot twist it turns out 'so that was a whole fucking lie'....well, then he'd probably have enough money that all those bank robberies he used to pull feel like a huge waste of time now, whoops).

I can see Laura hearing the rules of the first game, saying "No" and just run through it all like a force of nature.
