Default Excitement for One Star Squadron

    Any interest in this series?
This appears to be Power Girls return to comics among some other rather obscure characters.

    Who's interest?
This will be on my pull.

I'm probably the exact opposite of the fanbase this is pitched at.

If it wasn't for Power Girl this would not even have hit my radar.

Now i just worry that Kara Zor-L will remain a largely joke-based character for another decade.

I don't know, though I think they said why RT was there. PG is mostly depicted as being very rich...so I don't know why she'd need money. Still, I foresee possibilities with her and The Heckler...comedic possibilities, mind you.

I agree with all of this. As to the last bit, she IS very good as a comedic character, but she's also very good as a dramatic character and it seems like DC often forgets the latter.

I'm not "excited" by this title, but I do plan to pick it up and see where it goes.

I’ll give it a try. Always been a fan of RT. It’s only six issues.

What in the heck even is this strange pitch

I guess I'm glad. I like weird comics from DC's past, I frequently read stuff from 40 years ago and think "Oh this is wild! How did this ever get greenlit?" Only to just feel baffled when something were and unique comes out today? I should probably be excited for this even though humor books aren't necessarily my bag.

    All good responses...

For me I just wanna see her used alot.

Comedic, and dramatic stories and characterization.

Ultimately I just wanna see her show up lots in loads of Miniseries and in big story events as well as maybe an ongoing one day.

Eventually a live action film debut!

I guess the Power Girls are no longer trapped in the Innerverse.

Dont' underestimate Russel's capacity for pathos. The guy turned the Flintstones into a serious- and funny- rumination on war.

    Disagree with that sentiment.

I don't want to see her used a lot. I want to see her used well.
Too many bad, throw-away appearances will just cheapen the character so that it will be that much harder for others to see how valuable she can be.

I am, perhaps, a little *too* jazzed for this series. I tend to adore books that lovingly tickle the silly underbelly of the DCU (like Jimmy Olsen), as opposed to books that slice open and disembowel the silly underbelly of the DCU (like Heroes in Crisis).

Yah but to be fair I'd say it's a given any fan would want quality characterization and appearances of PG.

But at the same time Superman and Batman have hordes and hordes of bad appearances and characterization purely because they are used so much and doing things well is hard...

But having a lot of writers and artists working on a character elevates the number of great representations we see.

So yah I wanna see her appear often and be great appearances... and everyones taste is different anyway.

So while you may think certian characterization or story suck... like bendis Superman... mean while bendis has mountains of fans...

Or something like zack snyders bvs or zsjl may be hated by many... its undeniable he has a dedicated paying fan base.

So volume is required... since taste is hard to account for.

"Used well" is a subjective notion. Since I may feel she is used well. And you may not.
