Another find, on Pinterest:
Not sure if anyone was aware, but Gail Simone tweeted about Dazzler in the past week.
Todd Nauck has tweeted she is one of his favorites in the same week
I've also heard a little bit of scuttlebutt that the character is getting talked about a bit in the Xoffices because some of the new writers and artists are fans. Hopefully this will lead to some more appearances.
I don't post often, but I like to chime in now and again.
Simone's Birds of Prey was one of my favorite books & her version of Black Canary (my fav DC heroine) is still one of my favorite incarnations. I'd linterested to see her take on Dazzler or a Marvel version of Birds of Prey including Dazzler.
Keep hope alive, Thom -- but I'm finding it increasingly difficult. Creators bring her up quite a bit (for the past decade or so), but we still never see her used much. IIRC even Simone had difficulty being able to use her in Deadpool #67 & could not get the green light to use her in a reoccurring function afterwards. I think those at the top of the X-office have their picks for who they want to cram down our throats or which nostalgia trains they want to drive into the ground, regardless of the creative teams' ideas or wishes, unfortunately. ResurrXion didn't change that so I remain skeptical.
I had heard 'bout GS sayin' good things, which is GREAT, but Nauck actually confirmin' he's a groupie is new. Thought maybe tho, as he draws her A LOT. He even just featured her pretty prominently, down in front & takin' on the Taskmaster, in his AMAZing "Where's Wolverine" connecting covers piece:
... in her later A-Force look, but still.
The rumors 'bout the X-office's latest creative additions bein' pro-Dazz, are also fresh & favorable, so I'm cautiously encouraged by it all.

Found this sequence, and fell instantly in LOVE with it:
REALLY likin' that middle panel, can't wait to see it colored!
Love that Dazzler is getting a one-shot this summer. The preview art looks great. Hope it does well enough to warrant putting Dazzler into more X-men comics. Every now and then, she gets a major role in a book like Uncanny, but it doesn't stick. Hope this finally changes that.

With that massive delay and the interior art not matching the cover, I'd say this isn't the originally planned story, the original plans fell through, and they waited until another writer pitched something.
