Default So I got shot Saturday night

    Wasn’t too bad I guess.
Was walking my hounds one at a time to give them individual poop time, down a path that shows me the ass end of two rows of houses. I saw a guy messing w. a back door and it didn’t look like the guy who lives there, wrong body shape,
Still it could’ve been anyone so I just called out asked if he needed help.
He turned and started reaching in his jacket to which I was like oh ****.
My hound give her credit immediately realized we were into something and pulled her leash out my hand and went for the guy which is when he popped off two shots at her and missed thank god. Which is when my dumb ass first reaction was to run after and cover my girl before the guy shot again which he did and got me in the back high up towards my shoulder.
I guess that’s when the guy who lives at the house got to his back door and the other guy took off and things kind of all ran together after that.
I was taken to the ER and they pulled out a .32 slug from me which isn’t the worst thing I’ve ever been shot w. Been home and pretty much just sleeping the last couple days.
I woke up today at about 2am to pretty much the best thing ever which was my hounds curled up around me. My spouse was crashed out in the living room and said they hadn’t left me alone since I got home.
Told the spouse to get some sleep and am propped up on the sofa w. the hounds for company. Just wanted to touch base and gonna sleep again.

LOL I went to sleep before posting. My god I’m getting old.

Dang, that's disturbing! Glad to hear you're okay now.

Do the police have any clue as to who may have shot you (since they do have a bullet to try and identify the gun that shot you)?
And how rural is it where you live?

Sheesh, the guy pulls a gun on you for that? Dude must have been high or something. Scary world.

Glad you are on the mend, hopefully no long term consequences.

Can I ask - when else were you shot? Sounds like this is not your first experience with that.

Holy ****! is right. Send you thoughts for a quick recovery.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

I wish you a speedy recovery. How frightening! You must have had a angel watching over you. I hope the guy was caught.

Everyday I become more and more convinced that there are too many guns in this world, this country especially. I wish we could toss them all in a giant furnace. I know that's what they sometimes do in the steel mills in my area. Every so often the police take the unclaimed and those that are no longer required for evidence etc. and they take them to the steel mills and dispose of them.

Sadly, people here in Philly have been shot and shot at for considerably less provocation.

Riv: That must've been a frightening experience. Glad you made it through okay. Best wishes.

Thank goodness the bullet didn't hit something vital. Just be careful in the future, and give your hounds an extra treat.

Glad to hear you are ok and on the mend, but sorry you had to go through that. And give those hounds some extra love and pettings from me.

Riv I am very happy to hear you are on the mend. I am glad things did not turn out worse and you are okay.

This world we live in where things like this can happen at random is very scary. Please take care of yourself and stay safe.

Sorry to hear that, that's freaking scary.

I once had a gun pulled on me and my wife (and kids). It was the scariest thing I've ever experienced.

Dogs then to be very sensitive to any aggression to their owners, and good at getting stuck in if need be.

We had a family dog that didn’t ever bark and was extremely gentle until the day some guy attacked my dad…double pronto she launched herself through the air and latched onto one of the guys arms. She got well fed that night!

Y'know, that could be interpreted in two different ways . . .
