I'd like new alternates:

The Man of Iron: Tomor Sartak, an aristocrat with a congenital heart-ailment. He was trained in mystic chi-channeling martial arts because mastery of chi allows one of strengthen the body, including the heart, thereby saving his life. He named himself The Man of Iron, because the training was designed to use chi to make your flesh as hard as iron. After spending his entire fortune on training and being evicted by the Chinese government for failure to pay property taxes, he became an explorer and discovered an alien ship and ten rings. He now uses his mystic martial arts training and alien technology to bring justice to the world as The Man of Iron.

Odinson: Loki was adopted by Odin, and has fully embraced his adoptive family, including taking his adoptive brother's place after that brother died young.

Righteous Skull: Johann Schmidt was a bellhop when Hitler decided to turn him into his apprentice. Upon seeing the cruelties Hitler was perpetrating, he was horrified and became a spy for the Allies. Schmidt was eventually discovered and the Nazis punished him by placing him in an experimental torture device that freezes the victim while leaving them conscious and aware of being both trapped and horribly cold. It also caused a freezer-burn-like effect that left his head looking like a red skull. Eventually freed in modern times, Schmidt now protects the world as the Righteous Skull.
