This is truly sad.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
I don’t know who he is… it is still sad.
A cousin of my mother died from pancreatic cancer.
“Strength is the lot of but a few privileged men; but austere perseverance, harsh and continuous, may be employed by the smallest of us and rarely fails of its purpose, for its silent power grows irresistibly greater with time.” Goethe
My dad died of pancreatic cancer, had the chemo and radiation worked better he possibly could have had the cancer removed and still be here...
I first became familiar with his work in the New Teen Titans with writer Marv Wolfman, as well as the occasional Wonder Woman, from issues my grade school classmates used to bring to school. I have all four issues of JLA/Avengers by him and Kurt Busiek.
He set up a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TheGeorgePerez which he meant to be the official venue for fans to communicate with him.

Hope he enjoys the rest of his time. He'll always be the king of the giant group fight scene.

At stage 3, there's still a small percentage of beating it. I hope he received a second opinion.
Just learned about this. How sad, how very sad.
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
This is heartbreaking.
There's a generation of comic fans (my generation) that grew up with George Perez work. Particularly Crisis on Infinite Earths and Teen Titans. His work back in the day just seemed ahead of everything else particularly his facial expressions and his ability to draw multiple heroes in a single panel. Hearing this is like losing someone very close to you.
I hope he enjoys the rest of his days and wish him and his family the best.
This is terrible news. He's beloved and aware of just how loved he is.
He might be my favorite artist, due to the combination of prolific output, level of detail and storytelling skill.
Sincerely,
Thomas Mets
George was one of my favorite artists when I was growing up. I am deeply saddened to hear this.

I don't know how to explain how sad this makes me. George Perez and his writers took preteen and teenage me into adventures in worlds way bigger than the small Air Force towns I grew up in.
