Tini did a post on substack looking back at her Excalibur experience. A short summary: she is very proud.

Very disappointed.
I don't know what Gambit's fans have done so badly in lives to get stuck with Tini Howard`s writing for years.

I am out. Won`t buy any Marvel book till Gambit won`t be saved from Tini.

There is a Gambit series written by Claremont coming out. That will likely be very good.

I feel sorry for Remy since it's one of my favorites, but taking out Remy's writing because Tini doesn't seem so bad to me, I like what he did with Rogue while she had her in her book, and the incorporation of Rachel which is another of my favorites I like it.

I'm with ya, Wolfsbane. I saw much improvement towards the end of Excalibur and found myself enjoying it. Otherworld has so much potential and I liked what we've seen of the various realms so far.

I remain hopeful with this new launch that Tini will be more honed into a story than particular characters. I think the focus she put on characters (Apocalypse, Rictor, Betsy) didn't always jive with a team book or story. This feels like a more restrictive tale she is trying to tell vs creating this whole notion of mutant magic from Excalibur. I think we'll see better use of Gambit here as well. This is my optimism for the book. I will say I already dig Rachel's costume change.

He should've had it years ago if he wanted it. Right now Fabian Nicieza should have it.


Also Excalibur started ok but tapered off. Hopefully Howard gets better pacing down. She has potential as a writer.
