So, naturally his first thought was Legion.

Not Checkmate, Vigilante, Question, Sgt. Rock, Jonah Hex, or anything else?

Remember, this is the same guy that, instead of choosing "Drake" as in Dragon, he went the duck, literal water fowl route.

Bendis midas touch has struck again.

Why does he need to "move away" when you can just not read his stuff...
My priority is black female characters; everything else is secondary.

I don't really think that's applicable if only because the Legion have had a cartoon before and the show hasn't premiered yet.

Loved that show as a kid.

Season 2 was a bit disappointing -- especially when they added the clone -- which mean less of the actual Legion.

    From the other thread-

Bendis's run isn't really long and it doesn't get meaty till the last 4 issues and the Future State one-shot. So this series would work better as an expansion.

Sort of like anime filler episodes but better handled because Legion has a large cast and I'd like to get to know them better.

Honestly I'd just use Mon-el as the POV character. Just have him be Superman's great grandson who wants to live up to the S. Or insert one of Superman's descendants from House of el.

I don't need a modern day person to be the POV.

For example, I like Star Wars but I don't need to Luke to be from our planet/time period.

Oh well...we are probably stuck with Jon.

PS. I'd be down for Karate Kid being the Batman of the 31st century....

We did get a Legion origin episode, Karate Kid, Dream Girl, Cham, and a Timber Wolf focused episode...

Maybe the serious topics he wants to tackle can't be done with those characters.

Is he gonna be the showrunner? A lot of his ideas seem to fit movies/Tv shows and someone takes. I’m curious how this will end up

Well, to be fair, that is because the rest of the Bat family and Bat-adjacent characters have tended to choose the names of birds as their codenames: Robin, Red Robin, Redbird, Bluebird, Shrike, Lark, Starling, the Birds of Prey, Black Canary, Hawkfire…I’m sure I could go on.

I doubt it. Most showrunners tend to be more experienced in their mediums. I don't think he has enough experience in animation to be one. At best they would pair him with someone else who does.

I like the idea of Mon-El.

But have it start with him being rescued from the Phantom Zone.
Then having to adjust to life in the 31st century.
Everything you want to tell about life in the future, while adjusting to a new time, would be right there.
I hope that it is more the adult legion that showed the characters growing up, then a regurgitated kids show.

I'd say executive producer (one of several - Stan Lee was usually credited as one on Marvel stuff until he died), but not necessarily showrunner.

I'm guessing just producer. Like he was with (I think?) the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon.
