Evidently Sue neglected to convey any undercover techniques she learned through SHIELD to Johnny.

Johnny could have retained some knowledge of going undercover when he and Sue were posing as husband and wife (ick!) as chosen by Fury when they were with Cap's team during Civil War.

Having come of age (20 in '75) in the decade, I can tell you for sure, that most men wore mustaches, some porn/gay-porn even, but we didn't see it ourselves. Ubiquitous, mostly. There are always/were always men who didn't wear 'staches. Even local news/other news, many male anchors or reporters had the mustache back then. And I'm talking the 'white'. Black men as news persons have been consistent with facial hair. Mostly because Black male beards are subject to lots of skin irritations, which shaving does not help at all.

I always wondered why Johnny Storm, who considered himself a bit of a sex symbol, playboy type was always covered pretty much head to toe. Shirtless, sleeveless, shorts...always would have seemed more in line with his personality and profile.
