I don't think the Children's Crusade rumors are based on anything, though, except that some people online have read the comic and Doom was in it. The only reason people are talking about an MCU Children's Crusade at all is just that we're probably getting Young Avengers and it sort of would make sense for them to go looking for Wanda like in the comics. But it's a huge leap from that to Children's Crusade, let alone Doom.
Well, Geekosity were the first to report the Children's Crusade rumor back in September 2020. They also were the first to report Xavier and the Illuminati in Multiverse of Madness just weeks before Sir. Stewart revealed that Kevin Feige asked him to return as Professor X. The latest MoM trailer seems to confirm their scoop, so the Children's Crusade might be legit as well.

The problem is that there is a fine line between legit scoops and educated guessing. If they claim to have had the scoop on the movie in early 2020, when the movie was about to go into production with a completely different script and creative team than the one it ended up having, maybe they just got lucky.

It's like if someone said Thanos will snap his fingers and wipe out half of all life, they might have an inside scoop but they could come up with exactly the same information without one.

That doesn't mean anything for Doom. And it doesn't mean anything for when things will happen. Because the MCU plans things years ahead.

It didn't sound like they were making educated guesses. They said it was being seriously considered as the arc for the rumored Young Avengers shows. It possibly comes the same source that told them about Multiverse of Madness.

I have no doubt they are doing something with the YA considering who they've cast, but when they will do it is the question. And I think they'll start them out with their own stories first. It's another thing that doesn't have to revolve around Wanda, just because two members are her kids. Most members had no links to her.

I think if they do reference CC will be like everything else they've referenced and be slight.

Also kinda more accurate since MCU Vision is a more organic being with cell structure.

Think Wanda will catch the attention of Kang/Immortus after Multiverse of Madness?

Not really, nothing particularly interesting to tell.
Though I do like Kang Dynasty and the idea of Kang being an self-centric egomaniac who only ever cares about his supposed "legacy".

I think we might. They already alluded to Wanda being a nexus being and that she is destined to destroy the world. I can picture a Kang variant wanting to weaponize her power for the multiversal war like He Who Remains did with Alioth. But just like in Darker Than Scarlet, something goes horribly wrong and the multiverse begins to collapse, fulfilling the Scarlet Witch prophesy.

That could lead into a series of events based on Time Runs Out and Secret War.

That wouldn't be good because it has nothing to do with who Wanda is as a character. (Time Runs Out and Secret Wars are events Wanda didn't appear in, because they have nothing to do with the Avengers, let alone Wanda.)

We're already getting a movie where we're not even sure if we'll see Wanda acting like the character we know, we sure don't need more focus on irrelevant stuff like the Multiverse when we need to see her actually being herself and interacting with other heroes.

You can say that about a lot of adaptations by Marvel Studios.

True, I'm just not sure how they could adapt those stories in a way that had anything to do with Wanda, as opposed to using her as a plot device.

But then I think one of the problems with Hickman's Avengers run is that it's more concerned with boring stuff like incursions and the multiverse and not very concerned with character.

And that sort of ties into the problem with the way Wanda is being discussed here: her power is irrelevant, her status as a nexus being is irrelevant, it's only relevant if it has some kind of bearing on her character. And if the MoM rumors are true, Wanda will be out of character for the entire movie, so I'm not optimistic.
