Apparently, the more time he spends in the water, his appearance changes to the more creature like and his costume looks more like Namor's. LOL!


There's also this female version from Straczynski's run.

He's not a 616 character, but from the SS's universe, where I believe he's a human mutant. And nope, he's never been in Namor's books or mentioned, that I know of.

I was just wondering if Amphibian had been shown to be a fellow Atlantean, nearby undersea neighbor or surface outreach soldier for Namor. I seems "no" to all of these,

Yeah, the middle one is a complete surprise to me, as I haven't seen this art before. Also they made his eyebrows look a little more arched / Namoresque.

This is a cool idea! I recommended Sub-Mariner the Depths for a horror selection for the Graphic Novel club in the Classics Forum.

Namor didn't do it. He just had in a locked box at the bottom of the ocean.

Now ... how that box got there and how he and others knew ... I don't think they ever explained that, did they Imp?

In Subby 33, IIRC, Namor journeys to Lemuria to make a diplomatic alliance, and part of the way there, he hitches a ride on a giant manta ray, because tradition or ritual demanded that he not use a vehicle for the trip. ALL THE WAY TO THE PACIFIC! I'm not sure about the reasoning behind that tradition.
