I agree. I think they're trying to kill T'challa to coincide with the movie, and they're currently planting the seeds. Also if I had to hedge my bets on who the new Black Panther is going to be, met money's on Ororo. Shuri would make more sense, but if I what I saw in the timeless comic comes to pass, it could end up being Ororo. Eitherway T'challa will lose the mantle (AGAIN) sometime in the future.

Also I'm sooooo sick of this "I don't want to be King" storyline, it's been beat to death. It made sense for Coates first arc, and the moment where N'yami pulled T'challa together about it was pretty cool, but any writer taking on T'challa's character should really be pass this. Also Okoye should have been recruited new Dora Mlajae. Forget Aneka and her 22 traitors. Imagine all the Wakandan girls that grew up training and waiting to join a centuries old order having that taken from them by Ayo and Aneka. It's crazy that the only place that got addressed was in a Ms. Marvel comic of all places.

Just finished BP issue 7.

What message exactly is Ridley trying to push with this comic? T'Challa is wrong about pretty much everything??

How is this a good storyline? The protagonist of the series is wrong and everyone is talking down to him? Storm trash-talked him, Omolola trash-talked him and even the Dora Milaje are talking him down.

This is poor. Really, really poor. The editor that greenlit this pitch must not care at all for Black Panther as a character or concept.

Was this issue supposed to be the confirmation that Akili was behind everything? If so how did he know about the sleeper agents? Why kill them? And why turn against T'Challa? This story ends next issue and nothing was answered or made clear. This definitely makes top 5 worse BP stories. If this is how he writes BP then what's going on in his Batman series?

Wow... So we are back at "Wakanda! With first starring (somewhat) T'Challa the black panther!" At this point Ridley only one a SINGLE STEP above Coates, only because Coates had rape and slavery and other analogues on Wakanda. But this is by far almost just as bad. How is such sh***y writing allowed? Bast this book needs to BURN. We are truly living in the darkest timeline. If the MCU kill's T'Challa and pushes shuri, I can see the comics following suit and try to do the same and pull a Hector Ayala on T'Challa with Shuri... This was straight up GARBAGE. I don't know who this character is but it ain't T'Challa.

You know what I just thought of... Ya know how over the years we have all talked about the OGS Priest and Hudlin? How Priests and Hudlins versions are two sides of the same coin in terms of how they wrote T'Challa and Wakanda?

Coates and Ridley are two sides of the same ishtty coin. While the former uplifted and raised T'Challas profile and his influence, the latter two are doing the opposite. Shifting ALL blame to T'Challa with contrived plots, dogisht dialogue, finicky characters that don't know what they want to be and flip flop every issue, and just overall POORLY WRITTEN STORIES that show just how much these writers DONT understand the character and also how AMATEUR they are as writers.

Ridley has solidly ruined T'Challa. This is T'Chumpa 2.0

I really have to admit I did not expect Ridley to screw the pooch this hard or double-down on the issues plaguing the title since before he got a hold of it.

Like, I think his Batman stuff is okay, but I just could never have imagined he'd treat T'Challa like this.
