Of course they are really step siblings...
They Really are doubling down on the whole "Destined to be King " angle. Even though in Wakanda, it's not earned through bloodline or blood right, but by simply being the best. Really dumb. It's like after that ishty Shuri comic, everyone is spouting that same garbage

    Half siblings but yeah

In fact though, has it ever really been brought up in the comics?

T'chaka got a weird fam man... adopted white dude, T'challa with Nyami, Jakarra with some random side chick, Shuri with Ramonda.

That’s what also infuriating. The title and throne aren’t passed down through blood. T’Challa worked his a** off to get it. So who is this incompetent T’Challa they have running around? Doesn’t make any sense.

I’ll get that new marvel card game if T’Challa isn’t low tier fodder

Dude literally had to come back and beat his (enhanced) uncles ass and they acting like the throne just fell to him Joffrey style lol

You can tell this whole thing is "planned" to an extent because we JUST HAD A BILLION DOLLAR MOVIE THAT SHOWED ITS NOT JUST PASSED DOWN lol. the bast damn movie focused on what Cornonation was and how you just dont "get it"

Yet Chadwick died and now everything shifted. It couldn't be more blatant.

People are writing T'Chaka like some stereotypical Black man with multiple children from multiple baby mamas. Honestly Hudlin fixed this. Basically Ramonda was his wife and it was T'Challa, Jakarra, and Shuri was still in the womb. Klaw busts in, Jakarra gets hot in the cross fire and status unknown possible killed. Atleast that way it's not as ishty looking on T'Chaka and his family

Right? And in the COMICS it's way harder than just beating the current BP. Combining all the origins in a semi comprehensive way you have to: Beat Wakandas 6 best warriors, beat the Dora milaje guarding the BP THEN you fight the current BP, all the while not knowing where the challenge is going to take place so prep and planning is not only difficult, but also very limited in just how much you can actually prep. Than at the end of all of that?!you have to climb a mountain without assistance to get the HSH, take it THEN be judged by Bast to see if they are worthy.

Yes some of those are outdated but T'Challa still atleast had to fight the DM first and beat them then fight his enhanced Uncle... Yet the was somehow destined to be King??? Unless by Destined they mean they got a vision from Bast before T'Challa was born that he would be the GOAT then I call bullisht. It's just more dysfunction and the same tired trope of "Oh woe is me, poor black girls/ women have to overcome the sexist patriarchy and prove they are worthy" instead of the already established lore that is It doesn't matter if your male or female, the baddest warrior who proves themselves will be ruler and BP. Period. That's way more inspired and creative then the isht they are doing

It is just more of sucking the "tOxIc MaScUlInTy" out of the franchise.

a tribal fight for the throne is about as masculine as you can expect lol

Ever since ol TNC came on board, they have stripped the warrior aspects out of "Wakanda." Because the franchise isn't Black Panther anymore, its "Wakanda"

Yup, its never been more obvious that they are really vetting these "writers" for Black Panther and they are making sure there's a slow walk away from it being T'Challa centric. I feel this is coming more from the death of Chadwick as T'Challa than Coates writing. His death had serious ripple effect on the position and portrayal of Black Panther. He was set to be a main focus point in Marvel. I see Chadwick using the influence of the movie to further lift T'Challa's profile and that is going to show in other properties. Now, girl power agenda is sweeping this character and his whole verse into something not that many fans are asking for.

Well according to Coates, T'Challa is "a scientist at heart" which Coates did a ishtty job at that too. So now all of Wakanda is suddenly isn't the warrior nation, but a nation that hates T'Challa and wants to be a democracy for... Reasons, even though all the success they had was due to a Monarch and they had more freedoms to do whatever they wanted that most other democracies anyways.

    But no one man so.

I agree with all this right here. I’ve said this, only I didn’t word it as well.

"Subverting black male machismo" are the words that come to mind when I think of his Panther. Apparently wanting the lead character in a book to be competent is a bad thing. Maybe he genuinely thought he was being progressive, except, well, BP never really struck me as a "toxically masculine" type, he's just confident and self assured. Wolverine, all day everyday, the Punisher, same. BP, nope.

Priest said it best. This is for marvel, Fiege, Coogler, Coates, Ridley, the people in the back, ANY OTHER WRITER who portrays T'Challa different than what he really is
