This trailer just...breaks my heart. They're really doing this, I'm not mad, I'm not going to type in all caps about how women are ruining everything like a smelly redditor. This is just sad. They really felt that the best way to "honor Chadwick" was to kill off his character and replace him. I love Aztec mythology and I'm glad it's being explored, but this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. For those who do want to see it, I hope it's good, but I don't want to see this movie. Not even out of curioisity.

Wait just specials? That seems more a downplaying the franchise to me honestly.

Like if it was a big thing they would give it a TV show. With how popular Okoye is I figured they would just give her own show.

Sure Werewolf by Night is getting that Halloween special but that guy is a D-lister no offense to him.

That's a TV show with 6+ episodes and Okoye and all the women are going to be front and center in the WF movie so I can understand why they don't want to overexpose the character. Less is more.

Not saying its depressing, but it is sad for me. And then to watch a non comic accurate Shuri prove that anyone can wear the suit just takes the cake. What a perfect way to make T'Challa seem irrelevant by having the weakest fighter from the first film be the hero.

Yeah no way it goes the way it went on the comics. And it's made worse by the fact that they CLEARLY had no intention of Shuri taking over anytime soon. They completely made her character a non-fighter, and frankly there's no good way to make her one for this movie that isn't a slap in the face to Namor, or T'Challas capabilities. We have seen how technology fares against heavy hitters in the MCU. The ONLY time it's had worked had been the Hulk buster and even then it BARELY worked.

As for BD vs T'Challa, while it would of been nice to see it on panel, atleast he has been shown taking on characters much more powerful than him

Its pretty funny since Black Panther has the whole bullshit power, unlimited resources and access to a special plot metal allowing him to basically bullshit anything like Batman can.

I'm reminded in the last Avengers fight in Immortal Hulk while Hulk was ragdolling everyone including Thor, BP was cutting his arms off like a hot knife through butter. Which is funny cause in the first Avengers fight Hulk one-shotted BP by backhanding him so hard he overloaded his suit's kinetic absorbers.

Then there's the fight he had with Thor in Avengers Assemble which only worked because they had to do a little bullshit and have Thor only shoot lightning out of his hammer which BP could absorb and redirect it. Not saying BP couldn't have thought of other contingency's but the show only had Thor use that one specific attack and at no point did hever change his strategy like his using his super strength or anything different.

So I can buy WF will prolly bullshit Shuri beating Namor like the suit gives her enough of a power boost that she can fight him with equal strength or something.

Nah, T'Challa is VERY different from Batman contingencies. You seem to be forgetting that immortal hulk R 2 T'Challa was PREPARED that time and was NOT going into the fight trying to subdue Hulk without hurting him. Same thing in AA. Thor was not trying to kill T'Challa. And he did use his strength, he was ragdolling T'Challa around, and the strategy he used to beat Thor wasn't redirecting lightning. He was baiting him to throw his hammer Which is how he beat him.

T'Challa doesn't bullshit power. In most cases T'Challas plans are about neutralizing the enemies powers to put them on an even playing field and then T'Challa outskills them

It looks amazing and all. Namor looks awesome (minus that weird CG when he was flying towards that Wakandan ship).

It tears me apart inside that we won't see T'Challa ever go up against Namor.

I just cant believe they just handed her the franchise like this. Like how? Because in the comics she wears the suit?

In the comics Nakia is a crazy villain. M'Baku was never a "good guy". Killmonger wasnt related to T'Challa.

Why all this need to stick to source material now? Wright, although solid, is such a downgrade from Boseman as a star, hero and actor.

It still makes my damn stomach turn that they’re using Chadwick’s death to sell movie tickets. The only way this couldn’t have been exploitative is if they set it during the blip but that’s not happening.
