Probably because T’Challa is written more along the lines of how he behaves in Priest and Hudlins runs rather than the mopey sad sack that he was in Coates run.

I read Hudlin's run and this version doesn't read like that to me.

Lol this is as real as the not recast rumors. Better to take it serious now and raise hell before its too late. The guy is/was literally on set for both movies in Atlanta. He only responded cause the scoopers been saying it for weeks.

The best we can hope for is that they completely scrap the kid idea in post production/reshoots, otherwise I don’t think a variant recast can save this franchise from turning into a dumpster fire.

yea I was curious how those who didn't like Coates tchalla would like this as it does read similar in that this is focusing heavily on his flaws and missteps and him trying to atone or repair those errors.

Lots of ass kicking is what I’d like. We’ve had some good build up. After some ass kicking we can get back to the story. The story has been solid.

I've read the issue and it was solid 8.8 only reason it's not a 9 because the artwork in a certain section I simply didn't like..

I’m hardly optimistic about the film side of things. But comics is looking good (for now) and I’m still holding out hope for a video game. That’s the only medium where T’Challa can grow without being screwed by the MCU’s influence.

Why? Early reviews says it pretty much follows issues 1 & 2. Which shows T'Challa actually having bass in his voice and handling things. Ridley went out of his way to show that he wasn't going to follow the same path Coates took

It's by far ONE of the dumbest things they could do with the franchise, of course behind killing T'Challa outright. Just like making Shuri become "worthy" of taking the mantle by the end of the movie, a child makes zero sense in and out of universe

To me it's not the shade thrown but how T'Challa reacts to it.
I agree it needs to get toned back, but I am more bothered that Coates era had him hang his head down like a whipped dog.
