Yeah, I'm getting to that point too. Which is a shame because this has been the best forum and community I have ever been apart of and I don't want to say goodbye, but theres nothing to be excited for.

And I hope people really think about what's going on. If marvel can ditch and sidelined, literally the first black Super hero, and the biggest Solo heroes franchise behind only Spiderman, if they can just ditch a character with 55+ year of publishing history and THE premier Black hero from an unconquered Africa nation... Then wtf do they think will happen to other Black characters?

Exactly, the stuff Coates had T’Challa do and not do in his book was straight up character assassination. This is just bad powerscaling and shitty dialogue.

It’d be cool to have a story where T’Challa travels to the UN headquarters and finds time to catch up with Luke about everything that’s happened in NY. T’Challa is close to the NY community and while we’ve seen some attempts to explore that in the recent past (like that garbage, low selling Crew comic) I’d like to see a genuine heart to heart between the two about their places in the world and stuff like that.

But given the track record of the current BP office, T’Challa’s more likely to kill Luke Cage than work with him lol. For all the talk Ridey had about elevating brotherhood he’s done an extremely poor job of showing T’Challa building bridges with other men (especially those of color). You’d think that at a time where the black community is more divided than ever and you got droves of black men killing each other in America’s streets in a crime wave that more efforts would be made to show positive relationships between black men.

This entire run so far had been a bait and switch. Nothing that was said about this run has been true. Abd T'Challa is weaker than ever in this run. No showcase of the habits power, nor his martial prowess. He is bumbling along, and has yet to actually do anything noteworthy last the first issue. It's so disappointing that we have to deal with frakkery instead of awesome awesome awesome T'Challa. We are looooong past due

    Yup.

Where Ridley disappoints is that we actually had a little faith (or atleast optimism) coming into the run where as Coats some of us knew from the jump he was unequipped to be handling this franchise. Always hurts a little more when you are let down.

Well at least this one should be interesting since it’s written by Aaron.

You mean Carl Lucas? Marvel having him become Mayor Of New York but still have him go by a superhero alias instead of his real name is messed up and shows a total lack of respect for the character.

You know who is a really good good Black Panther writer?

    Jason Aaron.

There is a lot of stuff I don't like about his Avengers run but he writes a great Black Panther.

Too bad Marvel will probably never let him write a solo. Ironic since it’s white writers that do right by the character these days.

It's not even that. It's the simple fact that they black writers they are picking don't care about the character at all. We had a slam dunk guaranteed success with Redjack and they passed him over for the trashcan run Coates gave us. Then they again pass over Redjack and get Ridley, who apparently is writing a young Americanized BP who is getting beat up by no powered scrubs.. get me a writer who cares and the quality of the story dramatically improves

Well the new Vixen series is out. And it looks like they turned Deadshot into Killmonger. Lol.

At the moment Coates is way worse.

But after 6 issues of Coates, we didn't know it was going to continue to degrade lol. 6th issue of Coates is when T'challa was starting to get more proactive (sent the HZ to kill the MA, infiltrated and tricked Stane, and then the Crew was coming). We actually thought it might turn around and at least not been horrid.

It is kind of hindsight that everything was putrid with Coates. His pacing was ALWAYS bad. The action art was always bad. But since the story was going, there was (small) hope the real T'challa would return and we would get pay off for the stupid **** like rape camps and meeting despots.

The middle issues of Season 1 had things rounding into form that T'challa and his allies were "waking up" so to speak. T'challa was proactive again, got help from his friends, stopped Stane, found Shuri, pulled Changamire back into the fold, Shuri told the MA to back off or die. We thought we MIGHT be getting a united good Wakanda allied against the people.

Of course, what we got was like a invasion of 12 people (lol), stupid art, T'challa basically did nothing at all, chang and eden bascally saved the day, t'challa gave up his crown, tchalla fixed the MA issue off panel... and it was **** lol. By issue 6 we dind't know that though.
