Manifold is a mutant but he only became an X character about a year ago. He was a Secret Warrior, then an Avenger, then a Black Panther supporting character before he joined the X-books for the first time in Al Ewing's SWORD series.

Ugh.

Again if they are going to make the bad decision of killing off T'Challa, never using a variant of Boseman's T'Challa then a kid named T'Challa was the best bet. Again of the terrible choices and limited options I "got it".

However, if he's just named something else then its back to being another WOAT level of bad ideas.

Well, it's not an ass-kissing trip so that's good.

There's gotta be another reason for him to go to Mars though. If he wanted to elude the assassins he could have gone a lot of other places unless he thinks he's too compromised on Earth.

This seems like it would be a pretty big reveal to announce so casually so I still take this with a grain of salt. However, IF this is true than holy isht are they frakking dumb. That makes Zero sense for multiple reasons. Him and Nakia got together at the end of BP, and it would be pretty weird for them to get married and have a kid all in the span of 2 years (time between BP and IW) when we saw at the end of the movie T'Challa figuring out how Nakia could stay in close to Wakanda while still helping the outside world. Plus the kid would just be a kid and that is just narratively dumb.

Well they wrote themselves into this corner by taking only minutes to decide what T’Challas fate should be. But remember, this is the same studio that decided to completely change Hulks story in AOU while filming based on a rumor on Reddit. So if it is true hopefully they’ll scrap it in post production, and leave room for a variant to come in later on.
