I second that. Gwen is not only a spider, but a "Venom" too. If you think of it, this plot is similar to what Flash Thompson (as Agent Venom) did in Spider-Island, impersonating the Spider-King with the symbiote.

It is a nice pic, but I do agree with you. (Ghost-)Spider-Gwen is a very different Gwen Stacy from the one that was Peter Parker's first true love, and people should be able to recognize and respect that.
