I think Spiderling's supposed to play a role in the new Edge (then End) of Spider-Verse as the Patternmaker. Considering she already has her hands full with Carnage corrupting the Web of Life and Destiny, as revealed in Carnage #4 . . .

Gwen's story ended with her getting stung by a Wasp. Later on Spiderling is attacked by a swarm of them and is mutated into a monster. It seems like Gwen might be in the same situation.

It was Shathra who directly unleashed those wasps on Spiderling and remade her as "Nestling." Given what she said about Annie being Peter's daughter, or "brood," who wants to bet it's as much out of personal spite for Peter, even if Annie's dad isn't necessarily the same Peter she dealt with before?

Me too, but considering her popularity, I don't think they will risk her. Pretty sure there must be a way to undo the stungs. Personally, if there's one spider that I won't tolerate they kill or make us lose is Annie May.
