Hoping 2022 will be AWESOME for '90s GL: Kyle
Kyle didn't have an Appreciation Thread? Wow .
The artist GL and the one who carried the torch solo admirably .
Love Kyle Rayner.
The GLC Recharge mini series with Guy was the pinnacle of the GL franchise for me.
I would happily plonk down my cash for a monthly.
"My name is Wally West. I'm the fastest man alive!"
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
I grew up with Kyle Rayner as green lantern. What I mean is I didn't get into green lantern until kyle rayner started. For me Kyle Rayner is green lantern and I prefer him over the others, no offense to those who likes Hal etc as Green Lantern. I am out of the loop when it comes to green lantern but I would like to see Kyle Rayner back as the Green Lantern of earth again
I got both White Lantern Kyle and Parallax Kyle in DC Legends. I forgot he was Parallax too, when was that?
Personally, I think that GL v3 all the way up to 155 (when Kyle leaves Earth) was great, and what Marz did with Kyle was really well complemented by Winick. I did not like it when Kyle was taken from what I consider to be his natural environment (Earth, his supporting case, etc), and so I did not enjoy Raab's run.
What has been done afterward is... lackluster. Kyle is quite literally the one GL who works the best on a more grounded setting - namely Earth - and it is high time we get a book with him back in NY.
Have there been any in comic updates on Kyle's status?
I last recall him appearing in #2, and it seems weird that none of the remaining Earth GL's (Hal included) have talked about Kyle.
From the moment I met him (circa 1991), Hal Jordan was one of my favorite characters. Even though I didn't have decades of history with him like many readers (3 yrs is a long time when you're 13!), when "Emerald Twilight" dropped I was livid/crushed. However... Kyle quickly grew on me and despite longing for Hal's return, I didn't want Kyle to go away either.
Luckily he didn't, and thanks to a long run of awesome stories, is currently among my top 5 favorite GL's!
Kyle by Tony Harris for the 1994 DC Master Series trading cards (loved this set!).
Kyle's getting a figure in the DC Multiverse line as part of the Blackest Night wave.
