Expecting John to be the star of that new GL animated film. Don’t know if I want it to be an origin story for John or not. On one hand we haven’t really gotten to see John’s origin outside of comics. On the other hand maybe it’s better to just skip it and dive right into John as a GL.

I hope John is the star of the new GL animated movie. I wouldn't mind getting an origin story. Since we haven't seen one for John on screen yet.

I'd love to see a updated origin for John, but my concern is that it'd feel fairly toothless compared to the original, which feels pretty trenchant even decades later.

I'm leaning towards an origin for John since it's not well known to a lot of people outside of the fanbase. On top of that I want him becoming GL to be treated as a big deal and momentus occasion for the universe. Not like praising him as a god but like a pillar of the DCU is being established.
