I'll retract my statements on the degrading part. I guess I was speaking out of anger and I let it get the best out of me. But yeah, I don't think it was malice intent, but it wasn't good. I thought his Batwing book was good overall, but he came off as a little tone deaf on there as well. It's just some elements he uses can be used as a negative stereo type towards black people. But he really put a lot of effort on Batwing and cared a lot for the character.

I would rather see someone try in good faith to be diverse versus being forced to do it.

And we have to remember these guys are dealing with EDITORS who have their agendas.

Tone deaf is better than some of the stuff we got. Diversity being a black person in the book for one panel and that was it. Looking at you Archie Comics.

this makes me think DC should have a cosmic institution based in mech technology (maybe a planet or galaxy with a mech culture) that could be juxtaposed with the Lanterns. the cosmic landscape of DC could use the diversity. if they NEED to tie it back to the lanterns they could retool one of the other corps colors to be their power source.

I'm getting used to John with long hair.

He had locks in Future State. When his fade first turned up it took me a minute to get used to it, but now I have a difficult time seeing him any other way - unfortunately, same with his uniform. All these changes lately are blowing by faster than Kyle's many looks, but as with Kyle, John has one iconic look for me. Maybe if he's able to keep a look for more than a year, I'll be able to acclimate. (seeing him go from soldier/sniper to sword-swinger is also a bit of an adjustment)

Yeah, I have to agree that there's quite a few John Stewart variations in such a short amount of time.

If there was some John Stewart blockbuster video game, I can imagine that we'll see these different costumes as bonuses or something.

Very exciting. I'm glad Geoffrey going to continue writing John.

Indeed.... co-signed. But Mr.Thorne better not forget about John's architectural talent. It deserves to be mentioned and SHOWN more as well as his journey bridging his warrior/ protector, leader and planner/ designer/ builder into how John works as a unique character.
