they still got John looking like a green glow stick
The J-man
Yeah, that's probably my least favorite John design.

How did Kyle look as a White Lantern by comparison?
Was it also a glow-stick thing?

First there was DC Pride and DC Festival of Heroes; now it’s time to celebrate Black History Month! Cyborg, John Stewart, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Batwing, Vixen, Amazing-Man, and more take center stage to highlight the power of Black excellence across the DC Universe, in stories from a variety of comics’ finest Black artists and writers!
Soooooooooooooo, John is now a part of the Fourth World as a New God? Am I paranoid thinking this means he is essentially off the board? That seemed to be what happened to Kyle.
Nope. John is NOT a New God. never was, never will be. More than once it's explicitly said IN THE STORY that he is NOT a god, new or otherwise. There are things gods can't do that the Ascended can and vice verse.
The Ascended are NOT gods; they're something else. For one thing, they are EXTREMELY rare. In addition, the Source tells John that HE, of all the John Stewarts in the omniverse, has done things none of the others have.
John is unique which is what all super-heroes should be

I really don't think there's much to it. This thread overthinks things sometimes.
