I think what j9ac9k is getting at is that the article doesn't imply that "Apparently Gunn and Safran want to do a John Stewart GL movie". There is no rumour, nothing conditional about it; just the author speculating/writing down some wishful thinking.

I’m assuming that their wishful thinking is backed up by rumors/gossip they’ve heard but can’t confirm, otherwise I don’t even know why they included it. I was also bored and looking for an excuse to bump the Stewart thread

I think I mentioned it earlier, but I stopped giving any credence to stuff like "Someone says there's going to be a Green Lantern show or a Green Lantern movie!" I've been hearing that for a loooong time and I have seen nothing, so I eventually just stopped caring and giving it any real thought. Even if someone plans those things, whether they actually get made and released is a whole other story.

I will actually need to see actors cast and the project being worked on to give it any real attention. And even then, as we have seen, that still doesn't mean the project will make it to completion and get released.

Well right now it's all speculation at this point. I just hope that the GL HBO Max series starring John Stewart goes forward into production and get some casting news.

I'm also looking forward to see John Stewart be a Justice Leaguer in Justice League: Warworld animated film. So there's some cool things to look forward to in 2023.

It's been said that John is destined to get back with Shayera in the future in the DCAU. John Stewart and Shayera should be endgame in the DCAU. How they're trying to rewrite that is nonsense imo.

I think it's just supposed to a nod is all, they aren't rewriting anything. There's also a scene with Mari in the real world, just different stories is all.
