Why isn't Panosian on one of these One Bad Day or another prestige Batman thing?

In Ireland I got asked by a young aspiring creator about writing Batman — how do you know that you’re doing a true or correct version of him?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot and the truth is, I believe in a nature/nurture approach to him (and all licensed characters really)1/
The thing is there are only a few core intractable things about characters like Batman that make him who he is across all versions -ex.every night he pushes himself to the limit to prevent what happened to him from ever happening again & improve Gotham etc.
That’s his nature.2/
How he does this and its effect on him, whether he evolves positively, negatively, what he ends up feeling, doing, all that is nurture - it’s you working your passions and hopes and fears through him and most endpoints, different as they may be, are right or correct IMO. 3/
Could he be happy?
Or married?
Sure.
Our version IS happy married to his mission in Gotham, inspiring people to be unafraid, to fight collectively to make their city better.
For another version, this might not be enough, and maybe he tries something else. 4/
Maybe this makes him less happy, maybe more.
Both are right so long as they start from the core truths about the character.
Don’t get me wrong, some may love your version, some may hate it (both will be true) but take heart knowing it’s valid if you start from his nature 5/
I mean have strong opinions about what I think Batman’s limits are, what I think would leave him feeling empty or satisfied, and what things he would never do, BUT some of my favorite versions like Frank Miller’s, or Grant Morrison’s take him to very different places than mine 6/
As a creator, the fun is letting your love of the character, and your desire to have him face your fears and hopes in an honest vulnerable way, take you someplace very much your own and new. If you do that, your Batman is as valid as any
Forgive me for the long thread, but the question caught me at a moment when I was busy signing and I didn’t really have time to answer it thoroughly, and it stuck with me until now.

I wasn't the HUGEST fan of One Bad Day: The Killing Riddle, though I also didn't hate it, but I wanted to say that the scene where Bruce talks to the first murder victim's widow was really touching - really shows why I fell in love with King's Bruce, and why Batman is so great.

Bruce having an unofficial sidekick in Kara was a nice change back in the day
I can't make out the artist name but this picture is cute and humorous.
