Well yeah. Superman turned corporate by the 50s and became less of a character and more of an empty vessel for the company. It happens with many great ideas that get co-opted to maximize profits. Hmm, 'fraid I disappointed you lot today with my students.
My co-teacher brought up Superman and Batman today in his lesson plan and unfortunately the Superman slander started coming from the students who were Batman fans. I would have defended but it was 8 in the morning.
